I must admit I tire a little of the endless smutty innuendos and double entendres people make in a serious thread with the only intention of highlighting how wonderful these 'street' dogs can be if given a chance with a good home.

But that is TeakDoor, I guess.

Anyway, this morning, as usual, I walked up to see 'Pajama Girl's' two puppies.

I managed to get hold of one but she was such a handful I couldn't get a grip of the second.

This is Lola's sister, and twice her size.

I wanted to discuss the puppies' second vaccination which is soon due, but there was no sign of Pajama Girl today. She's having some decorating work done around the front for her upcoming coffee shop and I didn't want to traipse through her tangled, overgrown garden round the back to knock up her back door. It was 6:45am and I don't know her well enough for that. Maybe tomorrow.

Lola continues to win over the pack. I'm gradually losing her... at first she was happy to sit with me upstairs all day but the call of the pack is strong.

Maya has been great with her. No problems at all so far.

I think a new puppy joining the household is such a wonderful and special time. Maya may look wild here...

But a split second later and this... a photo can be deceiving. This shot would have been great if Yogi hadn't bombed it.

But this is Anna's thread and she's doing OK. She stays away from the melee of the pack but I think she's happy. I certainly hope so, anyway. The wife is away tomorrow night and I'm thinking of having Anna sleeping on the bed... just the once. I think she'd love it.

^ Like I said, the wife's away but she wouldn't really be into it anyway.

^^ To be honest she's mellowed a lot over the last few years and isn't nearly as jealous as she used to be. I still wouldn't try this if she was at home though.

^ I feel humbled being in the presence of such a cunning linguist.

I've worked in many countries but don't have such a flare for languages.

I'm usually OK at the numbers but not the words. Remind me, what's froggy for seven, I can never remember that one?

^ Yet again I find myself checking Google after another of your obscure modern-speak metro references.

I discover that 'Femme Fresh' isn't some kind of health yogurt but a feminine hygiene product.

You are one sick individual, Reg Dingle.

@mendy - even I had to Google what femfresh was. It's not sold here in the Phils. There's a similar product, called PH Care. I think it's made either by Unilever or Proctor & Gamble.

Re: the dogs, you "losing" Lola to the pack reminds me of a parent "losing" a kid to his friends when the kid becomes a teenager.

If your dogs were people, Anna would be the aloof emo chick, Maya the "queen bee" (see the Mean Girls movie), Coco the people pleaser, Lola the eager newbie kid. Yogi would be the Luigi/ Lothario of the group.

^ Anna is a very sweet dog but I decided against sharing my bed with her last night. A problem with dogs that live outside in the workshop with free access to the garden is that they never really become house trained. I discovered this to my cost a few years ago when Coco came on heat and I brought her into the bedroom to keep her away from Yogi during the night. The bed was a right state in the morning... how I'd imagine Reg Dingle's looks in the morning after ten pints and a hot curry, without the aid of adult diapers. Yeah, never again.

Anna and Maya continue to tolerate one another. Maybe my hard work is finally paying off? Or is Maya again bullying Anna? Cesar still hadn't made contact.

Lola's family are still doing well and Pajama Girl has opened a small coffee shop. Does that mean that she'd have an inexhaustible supply of aerosol whipped cream I wonder? I had some fun with that, back in the day.

Lola (or Nora as the wife bizarrely seems to be calling her now) went for her second parvo/distemper jab yesterday and also had her first rabies jab. She takes it all in her stride and was playing with the others all day.

I weighed her before we went to the vets... 6.8kg, it won't be long until she outgrows these scales.

I have discovered that I am gradually changing into my dad, may he rest in peace. He used to keep detailed graphs of our electricity consumption and would take great delight in showing my sisters and I the increase in usage when we came home for Christmas and the like. I couldn't understand why he went to all the effort.

Well, I guess you can't escape your genes and I have been keeping a plot of Lola's weight gain since she joined us. This was supposed to be a science project for the daughter but she doesn't seem very interested, to be honest.

Anyway, from the graph I am predicting that Lola will outgrow the scales on 15th March and thus prove to the daughter that there is a practical use for science.

Yes, life in Isaan really is this good!

^Lol re: the graph. Reminds me of someone I know. Also takes note & makes graphs of the electricity consumption.

Mendy, AFAIK you haven't taken the test/ shown your MBTI result, but my guess is that you're an introvert & thinking type (I & T).

For BLD - my guess is he's an extrovert. For the others on this thread, I don't have enough info to make a guess. (except Reg/ Dill - my guess is extrovert too)

    ^ Not in public, mate.

Lola's weight graph was a bit off and she wasn't 7.0kg yesterday, she seemed to be 7.8kg and must have had a growth spurt. The scales are only supposed to go up to 7kg so maybe they aren't accurate in that extra bit? Anyway, I need a new method of weighing her as she's outgrown the tray.

She has really become part of the gang and only comes inside to sit with me when the others have run out of energy and give her a few growls. I don't think it'll be long until she wants to stay outside permanently and I will miss her.

And having a rest before her next play session. She has some life.

She's won over Yogi and he enjoys the occasional game with her... or is he playing the long game and this is all part of his grooming?

^Lola is getting so big already! She's now in the "teenager" stage.

Re: weighing Lola, if you have a bathroom scale (for humans) then you can use that. Weigh yourself first. Then carry her & get your combined weight, then subtract your weight. It's how I weigh my backpack/ carry-on for flights. (The good/ bad thing about it is that you'll constantly know your weight. Heh)

^^ She's naughty like a teenager as well. Last night I fell asleep watching an episode of my series in bed and Lola must have jumped up, pulled out my earphones and chewed the ends off. The bugger.

Your puppy weighing method just ain't gonna happen Katie, for obvious reasons. Lockdown wasn't kind to me.

But you have reminded me that I have one of those digital scales for weighing bags before flying. I can stick Lola in a carrier bag and use them... just have to find them first.

It will be good to keep my graph going!

Edit. ^ Wow, would you believe that Lola is 26kg! I'm back to my fighting weight.

Thank you for saving us a picture of your toes next to the scale numbers. Might have even been worse than Loopers scale guffaw, opaque as it was.
