please post your beloved ones past and present,i am sure ANNA would be proud to have them on her thread, remember those who are no longer with us but they will never be forgotten.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx HH.LOVE ME LOVE MY DOG.
^^ Nice one Katie!
Yesterday I started Anna's integration to our pack. I keep them either side of a fence and the plan is to introduce one of our residents to her at a a time. I think this could take a while. They all get on fine on the dog walks on neutral territory but when Anna comes into the garden the atmosphere changes. She doesn't seem to like Max either and had a go at him yesterday.
Still... one day at a time.
I have seen so many nice street dogs over the years that would have made nice pets. I figure every bit helps and if nothing else if it makes you happy carry on.
Our next one will definitely be picked up from outside somewhere. You can often tell if one is good natured.
Chock-dee has made friends with a local dog and he joins them on there morning walk.
He's come back to our house to play but Dee is a bit crazy and he was soon headed for the gate to get away.
It's strange Mike... when I walk our dogs in the morning we always get joined by a couple... but always Anna.
Today I brought Anna into the garden again to continue her gradual assimilation to the pack. I introduce one pack member at a time, on a lead... slowly slowly.
Anna jumped up and buried her bone in one of the lime tree concrete ring beds. This made me happy on two counts... I reckon it may mean that Anna's already comfortable and thinking to a future home in our garden but also that Anna digging in the lime tree beds will really piss Das Kommandant off... she does fukk all to help out around the place but has the audacity to complain about this kind of stuff. Dogs are dogs. Bollox to it... I want Anna here!
That's funny. Hopefully she remembers where the bone is for later.
Morning?
Looks like the middle of the bloody night?
its heart breaking seeing such lovely dogs without a home,i see more than a dozen every morning, but you can only do so much,to help,i used to buy quite a lot of food for to help a shelter, but after awhile we get pestered for money[large amounts to,in over 35yrs i have learnt DONT GIVE MONEY TO ANYONE.
^^ Ha it does look dark. My mother in law is sleeping over until I get back and likes to leave very early.
IMO Christmas it is not what you get , but what you give
Had a Christmas party for the kids We got a Bush that looked like a Christmas tree from the local garden nursery place, and decorated it with garland, blinking lights and trinkets, decorated the downstairs space under the house with much of the same as the tree, got a bag of balloons , Christmas music from YouTube, and lots of inexpensive toys. no ,ore than 30-60 baht each, and wrapped them in Christmas wrapping paper. The preparations were almost as much fun as the party.
For the adults a big hot Pot on the table and plenty to eat.
At the end the greatest Christmas gift was the kids faces reaping the boxes open
A good time was had by all, it was even suggested that we have a Christmas party every few months LOL
Why not?

The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
^^ A nice Christmas Bush, BB!
I've always brought Anna and Vigo into the garden over New Year to avoid the fireworks and drunk drivers we get around this way. I planned to bring her in today but last night a neighbour started letting off some big bangers, I went out back to find Anna and she shot past me and straight into the garden. She must really hate the fireworks as usually she takes some persuasion to come in. She can stay in the pond area and so be segregated from our resident dogs.
I put a nice bed down for her by the catfish tank.
I felt a bit sorry for her all on her own during the festive season so thought I'd risk letting Yogi in to keep her company.
He wasted no time in getting acquainted.
In fact he just wouldn't leave her alone and I'm starting to think she may be in season. I had her speyed a couple of years ago but it seems the vet must have left some ovarian tissue behind and so every six months she still has a season and releases the hormones. At lest she can't get pregnant.
Yogi may not be the most handsome of dogs but the girls all seem to like him... a chip off the old block!
Yogi put on quite a show in front of the others...
... and eventually the daughter stepped in to give Anna a break.
The others were fascinated by all this, apart from Dan who was already asleep in the kitchen by this point.
Max has no tackle and Coco and Maya are girls... but Tommy was obviously eager to try his luck.
Yeah, he wasted no time either. Anna is very patient.
Tommy looked like he was getting ready to do the deed so I removed him as well. I think Anna was happy to sleep alone last night.
I do enjoy watching the dogs getting used to each other. Hopefully Anna will permanently join us sooner rather than later. The boys are no problem but the girls will need some work.
And Yogi will get extremely jealous of Tommy whenever Anna comes into season.
Tommy disappeared later on during the evening and I checked to see if he had tried to sneak in to see Anna... but no. While Das Kommandant has been away the dogs have taken advantage of the easier regime and have become quite bold about entering the house. Tommy had sneaked upstairs, strictly against regulations, but sadly for Tommy he has only worked out how to go up stairs and can't seem to figure out how to get back down again. He really is as daft as a brush.
He was caught red-pawed.
^lol. Tommy looks so cute with his little tail wagging.
Happy new year to you & yours, Mendip!
Very nice !! Anyone that does not love dogs must have something seriously wrong with them.
Happy new year , and many many more.
^ You're exactly right BB, and Happy NY to you too!
All these bloody fireworks going off tonight have scared Anna witless. They used to do the same for Dan before she got old and as deaf as a post.
I'm not normally a 'bah humbug' type of person, but why can't everyone just fukk off with their bloody fireworks. I can't see 2022 being any better than 2021 anyway.
I would have no idea that there is so much social dynamics going on in a dog pack if it were not for this thread and its detailed insights into the world of doggery
2 gorgeous dogs I came across on my rambles today
with household debt at record levels,WHERE the fyk do they get the money from to be letting off these bombs?morning noon and night this passed week.very young kids as well as head bangers.
^^ A pleasure Looper. The way things are going we may all be camped out on your balcony soon... then you can witness it all first hand.
The fireworks seem to have stopped so after packing up the Christmas Tree it was time to put Anna back outside today. She was whimpering to get out and it's not yet time to bring her in permanently. She gets on well enough with Tommy and Yogi, she tolerates Max, completely ignores Coco but there's a real clash with Maya which will take some work to sort out. There's no way she can join us while Dan's still alive anyway... Dan is just too old for all this shit (as am I to be honest).
Half an hour after letting her out there was some snarling coming from out back. She had been joined by this handsome chap... I'd forgotten about her season. There were also two other males that ran off before I could take a picture... they appear like magic when a female comes into season.
Anna seemed to tolerate this guy, almost enjoy having him around, until he got too close. At one point she was showing off her real estate portfolio... she currently has two detached kennels all to her self. She may not be ready to get carnal yet but seems to want some company.
Despite her property empire Anna prefers to spend time on the sand pile but when her new beau came close it was just too much for her and a fight was on the cards. Thai females ain't exactly the easiest to figure out, to be honest.
So back in she came. I made up her bed again and she had some cheesy scrambled egg with ham as a welcome back snack before having a snooze.
But I don't think we've seen the last of Mr Brown, as he's been named by the daughter...
