My daughter must have stuck those stickers on the bed when she was little... nothing more exciting than that! One day I'll remove them, but not just yet. I want her to stay a little girl in my mind a while longer.

No more anything for me for a while mate... Coco does seem to be taking over!

Anyway... you know when something wrong wakes you up... but you just can't put your finger on it. I was dragged out of sleep around 4:30 this morning by a kind of musty smell... went back to sleep... but my nose kept waking me up. I finally remembered who my bed partner was... patted around the bed but no Coco...

I reluctantly woke myself, put the light on, and Coco was trotting around, wagging her tail but looking a bit agitated.

It didn't take long to find the most God awful mess of piss and shit I've ever seen... close up the smell was eyewateringly bad.

It was all by the door and Coco, bless her, must have tried to get out but was blocked. The downside of this was that it was impossible for me to leave the room without getting wet feet.

What to do? I sneaked her out the back door which set off all the other dogs howling, then returned to the site of horror. Luckily the floor is ceramic tile and a couple of toilet rolls later things were looking better. I then sacrificed a towel soaked in water and shampoo to give the whole area a good mopping. Not a perfect start to the day.

I think I've got away with it, but the missus has a nose for this sort of thing so time will tell.

It's not Coco's fault... she's an outside dog and has never been house trained but I think I'll have to come up with alternative arrangements tonight!

yes A we have had in bed with us since she was 5weeks old,so the main reason we had her on a short lead was so she couldnt fall out of bed.

    Coco's season... Day 3

She's got a choice... the outside sofa (under a roof) sans Yogi...

Or the manky old mat by the back door (open to the elements)...

Coco's choice, but she ain't sleeping on my bed again!

I felt sorry splitting her and Yogi up earlier on... but you just can't trust 'em. As soon as I'm to bed I reckon they'd get down to it.

If we get no rain them she can sleep on the mat and it's not like she'll get lonely. And if she does they can all start howling tonight, I don't care... a few Ya Dongs and my plan is to have the aircon on... so windows shut and I won't hear a thing!

After tomorrow it's the gardeners responsibility. The daughter and I are off to Bangkok on the train in the morning for a little holiday!

Can you believe she's 9 yet the daughter has never had a full English on Sukhumvit yet? I don't expect her to have a pint of cider mind.

I was hoping after four days away in Bangkok I'd return home to find Coco's season finished and a relaxed pack of dogs.

Not a bit of it... it's now six or seven days in and she seems to be in 'peak' cycle.

Tommy seems to have his emotions under control but Yogi was crying all night and walks around with a permanent hard-on.

I've never seen a dog try and mount a bitch through a fence before...

It's possible to get a bit 'frustrated' after a long offshore trip... but Yogi's sexual frustration is palpable...

    Poor thing...

I am surprised Yogi hasn't slipped her one through the gate, they are extraordinarily cunning when its time to bump naughties

Yesterday a lady that lives here in the village somewhere bought her female dog around to our place as she had spoken with my Missus before about getting our boys to do the deed with her girl. Apparently she likes the look our our boys, they are all brothers from the same litter but quite different to each other in their personality.
Her girl, which i had not seen before, is a really nice looking dog. I should have taken a picture but she is also a bit young and nervous. Looks to me like a cross between a doberman and a ridgeback and is a very rich chocolate colour.
Turns out she is not on heat as the dogs had a look a sniff and then weren't interested. Our little female dog wanted to fight her but she was well and truly outclassed. It never stops her having a crack though.
If the lady brings her girl back when she is in heat and she gets in pup to one of our boys I definitely would love one of the pups.

Your post about Yogi confirms what I told the missus that if the girl is in heat the boys would have gone crazy trying to get to her, which they didn't.

^ Not only would the boys go crazy... and I mean yelping, crying, howling, metal gate-chewing crazy... but the girl would be crazy trying to get to them as well. Coco is now constantly sauntering around and rubbing her rear end against the gate... driving Tommy and Yogi to distraction.

Yesterday she shot through the gate as I went through to get to the boys.

Yes SHE shot through to the boys side... and Yogi and her ran off together. He was on her in an instant but I caught up and pulled him off before any penetration!

Tbh this would be the perfect opportunity to prove the theory about multiple fathers siring a litter, as Tommy and Yogi look so different... but I just don't want more puppies. Coco will be speyed before her next season.

Ootai... for your info Coco started leaking blood a few days before the boys became 'really' interested, beyond a sniff and a play. I reckon it's now maybe 7 days since the blood started and her vulva has swelled right up... that's the big indicator to when the bitch is ready.

    No let up tonight...

I've had plenty of 6 to 8 week offshore trips away from home but I'd like to think when I returned home I acted with a bit more decorum than Yogi is showing just now.

You can't help but feel Coco knows exactly what she's doing... just out of reach...

There's just no way through that fence... I hope! Yogi's dad was the alpha male around here for a couple of years and sired many litters. Like father like son... if he could!

A brief respite before the yelping and howling starts up again later. It'll be an aircon and windows closed night tonight!

Must admit though I feel a bit sorry for these guys. I remember that feeling of lust... vaguely.

The daughter wanted to come on the dog walk today so I thought great, we can take all five together... she with the two girls and me with the three boys. I've been in the habit of taking the girls and boys separately while Coco's been in season.

I let them out and they run to the gate, but then Dan and Max have a squabble. I sort that out... then hear a squeal from down by the pond...

    FFS... I knew immediately... FFS!!!

Yogi had done the deed with Coco... they were out of site for literally two minutes, definitely no more.

Once they're joined that's it, it's too late... you can't separate them. They stay like this for up to half an hour.

I've always been more of a finish up and roll over kind of guy!

Tommy was of course well jealous...

And just couldn't couldn't contain himself... I think he needs a lesson about the birds and and the bees...

So ootai... in answer to your post above, if the dogs are ready they will certainly let you know. It's not a matter of getting them together... it's a matter of keeping them apart.

As much as I'm pissed off after two weeks of hard work keeping them all separated... I've only meself to blame. Part of me would like to see what Coco - Yogi puppies would look like but no way can I allow that after all the work I've put in to reduce the soi dog population round here.

All said and done, this has just brought forward her speying to within the next few days so no huge deal. Not perfect, but nothing rarely is in Thailand.

And an hour later... butter wouldn't melt in her mouth...
