^ They sleep in the workshop at night, but can go outside into a small part of the garden if they wish. They will bark if a stranger walks past the house at night, exactly as they're supposed to.

They also howl in the morning when they hear me opening up the house downstairs... but that's short lived until I get outside and greet them.

They're walked every day and tend to do their business on the walk, or else they all use one corner of the garden. Easy to shovel up once a day... at least the gardener makes short work of it!

To be honest I didn't plan on having five dogs... it just happened. We've got the space and they're not a problem... to us or the neighbours.

Mine too. Last night when I put the rubbish out dog about 20 metres away barked at me, then a dog about 100m away heard the barking and replied to that with a bark. That was followed by another dog about 200 metres away barking. It's like a row of dog-barking dominoes sometimes.

if you get the result of coco's blood test,i have kasertsat vetinary test range so you can compare coco's test,it is important that you get the result of a blood test done at an animal lab.some vets [we found]their testing apps were faulty,even one of the bigest in korat,there have been some new animal hospitals opened in korat this past yr.

To think that when she turned up two weeks ago, I reckon Coco was a couple of days from death.

Good regular food, some meds and a loving home has transformed her. Now she's centre of attention and they all want a play with her.



I can't help thinking she knows exactly what she's doing here... she has the boys fawning over her. A future pack leader perchance?

Mendip: I was going to pm but it might help others so here goes: Jimmy is now a happy and healthy 6 months, had his last jab yesterday and clear till next year; wifey says a friend recommended we snip him, to avoid the anxiety and possible harm trying to get over the fence when local bitches come into season.

What's your take on this? I would've asked our vet, but snipping is an earner so not sure I would be getting the best advice.

Probably not your dept: he's a poor traveller and throws up in the car almost every time; we put plastic sheets on his seat and floor, but somehow it trickles through. Better than plastic would be if he didn't throw up. This is a new one on me, all my previous dogs (bitches) were hardened travellers, so is there some med or technique other than plugging away and living with the mess until his system is used to being in a car?

I have had two male dogs neutered and both of them became a bit needy, unpredictable and difficult. Max who we still have turned from a lovely affectionate dog to a difficult one who I now need to muzzle before injecting. He never has bitten and still loves my daughter to bits, but I don't want to take the chance.

He could have changed without neutering of course, but that's impossible to tell. (he also sexually bullies our two young boys). The cost of male neutering is small, it's a very simple op. The vets often make rheir money on subsequent overnight stays which I think are pointless. Keep him at home with a plastic collar on.

I'm going to leave our two young boys intact, but we have a 2.2m perimeter wall so they are completely isolated. The new girl will have to be speyed if course but I'll wait for her first season.

As for the travel... I have a pickup with a Carryboy so I just stick a crated dog in the back if needs be, and a hose sorts out any mishaps. Many vets do a collection service which may be of use for a one-off op? Also we get home visits for innoculations and are charged 200 Baht for the visit (plus meds). Worth every penny I reckon to save taking 5 dogs to the vet. I've never heard of a dog getting travel sick like yours before.

I am glad jimmy has come on well,as for the snip,it will calm em down also your wife's legs will not become black and blue with jimmy trying to shaft her.it is a simple op in and out of the vets half day at the most.the throwing up might also stop as j would not be so anxious every time it has a ride.it does calm them down quite a bit.

I feel a bit sorry for him and wish we hadn't had him neutered now.

My wife took her male dog to the vets for neutering. Had to stay overnight, as I now read above to pad the bill, he got Parvo at the vets and died as did his sister who caught it from him.

that's tragic VN I know a lot of nasty surprises are picked up the vets,i was sat down in a vets waiting room only to see ticks crawling over the floor,when I pointed them out to one of the staff,her reply was THEY COME FROM OUTSIDE

Max is three and a half, and was neutered at about a year old I think, maybe a bit younger.

This is the sort of thing he gets up to... he grabs the other boys around the neck and tries to force them to... well, see for yourself.



As you can imagine, it instigates a lot of questions from the daughter.
