Hey up... what a grand idea!

It could be the best norvern fred since the whippet pie eating competition with ferrets down the troosers.

It's called class Reg, you clearly don't get it.

And my Songkran shirts are cotton, not nylon.

    Morning Mendy. Happy Friday
Yes, good morning Stumps and thanks for the compliments, although I must take issue on a couple of points.

I think you are pretty much alone using an electric dryer rather than sun-drying clothes in Thailand, unless you live in an apartment of course. And call me strange but I've never seen the point in wearing my Sunday best to weld and paint in 35 degree heat in the garden? Maybe you Merkins are just 'different'.

Another with perfect feet... this forum must have the best footed members on earth... yet they keep them hidden.

And finally, my organic fish have had zero hormones and anti-biotics administered in contrast to those fancy Australian steaks you like to bbq... ever wondered why you have no body hair?

    Next.

I can agree but tore up Big C slippers and lazada silk wicking shorts to weld? There is some basic common sense at question here.

There ya go. I posted this in my pool thread. Notice I have all my toe nails, no fungus and they are not webbed?

Hmmm. True and good point on Organic...maybe. You may not be adding them but the pollution that falls from the sky in Isaan into that pond could be suspect. As for the steaks, I cannot confirm other than what they say as I always purchase Grass fed beef and certified no growth hormones or antibiotics (Why they are fancy..LOL. Without sending a hunk to a lab, I can only go by the rating they comply too. Can't comment on the hair thing other than my entire family going back generations never grew hair like an ape so I am going to go with genes on that.

Sorry for sidetracking your thread by posting some stuff that is unrelated to Anna but anyway I don't suppose Stump posting a picture of his hairless legs and manicured gay feet is not really to do with Anna either but at least he has come out showed his and if i remember correctly I showed my beautiful feet on here somewhere and got whacked by Willy for needing a manicure.

Anyway i thought you might like to say a recent picture of our pups.

Every time I look at the boy I can't get the image below out of my mind so I am thinking of naming him "Mendy".
And the petite little girl Wendy as a nod to your alter ego.

^ Wow, what an honour. I don 't think I've ever had a street dog named after me!

Great that these two survived, I'll show the daughter the pic once her online lesson finishes.

Anna welcomes all dog-related stories on her thread... it's what it's all about.

Yeah, fair enough if they're specifically labelled as such but I think many would be surprised at how much hormones and anti-biotics are used in farm reared meat, even from overseas. And the Thai pork and farmed freshwater fish are absolutely swimming in hormones.

It's nothing but organic fish and eggs in the Mendip household, albeit with some Isaan ash added to the mix!

    But anyway, back to Anna...

Things are really hotting up here.

Today Anna discovered my 'reading chair', in the sala by the pond and sat down for a relax...

    ... and two minutes later...

Yogi really is a fast mover. I must say I'm quite proud of him.

    ^ Why thank you HH.

I don't think Anna is ready for Yogi's advances and you'll be relieved to know she sought refuge by snucking in between Coco and Maya.

    Girls unite!

Surely a dog licence renewal occurs 7 times more regularly than humans since dogs have to live 7 years per human year. Therefore Mendy is going to need to get to Bangkok 7!times more regularly. Everyone is a winner!

Do your dogs, or other dogs in the area howl at night?
almost every night at about 12am it starts like a wave, and only lasts less than a minute, but it sounds like hell.
One dog starts howling , then the next, then the dogs next door, the house after that, and like a wave it goes through the whole town, heck maybe the whole county.
I had never noticed that behavior before, if it had happened I sure as heck I would had noticed. Does it perhaps happen at a certain time of the year? perhaps when I was not around at the time.
I ask because you seem to have a lot of experience with dogs.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

@Mendip - make sure that your funds for the dog are in the proper bank account and not in a fixed account, else you might have difficulty in renewing the dog's passport/ license (similar to headhunter)!

Btw, Yogi is a good stalker!

@headhunter - just kidding! From what I've read in another thread, I think your $$ is in a fixed account? We call that a "time deposit account" here. The money rests for the specific time period, you can't take it out. But it earns more interest than a regular savings account. (Is that the same case there?)

not to derail the thread, but yes K a fixed is the same as a time dep.but you can draw it out any time, but as mine is 3yrs. with 18months left,if i was to draw an amount out at the bank only i would have to pay back some of the interest and a new acc.set up for the remainder of the time left.i am now going to put a sum of money into the savings acc.where my interest goes into every month so not to have any more grief.
i wonder will ANNA have to go on here own or will dad have to take her,

    ^ Derailments are welcome HH!

I like to travel alone to Bangkok so won't be taking any of the pack with me. Besides I'm not sure Anna would like the bright lights, she's more of a country girl.

Very occasionally something will set our dogs off and for a minute or so they'll howl like a pack of wolves. I think as you say it's other dogs they can hear howling that starts it, which in turn will set others off. It happens so rarely that it's not a problem.

At night ours are confined in a central area away from the front and back lanes so they don't bark at passing street dogs or neighbours. The only time they bark is when a squirrel or cat enters the property or when Yogi finds a snake... that's their job and I have no problem with it but I wish I could stop them killing the snakes.

Every morning I am welcomed by this as they wait to be released into the front garden.

We got back very late last night after paying a visit to my Welsh mate and the daughter tucked Anna in to stop Yogi trying to sneak in bed with her.

    ^ Thanks mate.

Anna had her first ever claw cut today. Like me she has nice feet but they needed a bit of attention.

She really is the most marvelous dog. No-one likes having their feet messed with, least of all me, but just two weeks after coming in off the street she let me cut her claws with no complaint at all. I muzzle Tommy and Max for claw cuts... they never have bitten but squirm and squeal and hate it so much I figure that prevention is better than facing the consequences of a dog that has bitten. Thankfully Yogi's claws don't seem to grow.

But with Anna... no problem whatsoever.

It is not a problem with us also , as I said it only lasts less than a minute, It just got me by surprise as I had not heard it like that before and I have been around dogs all my life, just not as many together at one time.

I wish mine would kill snakes, as I don't like them (the snakes not the dogs LOL) I know that many snakes are harmless and even beneficial, but I instinctively don't like them. My dogs are useless when it comes to snakes, any time I had one , they just sat there and looked at it.

I was watching a vid last night on how snakes have influenced in our evolution, and our ingrained fear of them, And how we have influenced the evolution of snakes. you might find interesting.

I was horizontal tonight, considering lights out and sleep when I suddenly realised there was steady rain outside.

Oh no... Anna's bed is exposed to the elements!

I reluctantly got meself downstairs and over to the gardener's... but he had beaten me to it. He really is good.

Anna's bed was already relocated to the workshop and she had followed it inside knowing exactly what was going on. She has a rare intelligence for this type of dog and seems to take everything in her stride.

The others were unsettled by her appearance but that was only to be expected. I'm very happy she was confident enough to go inside with the rest of the pack. If all goes well for her tonight she'll sleep inside from now on.

Good luck in that madhouse tonight Anna!

    Her first ever night 'inside'!

At 6am this morning I went downstairs to six dogs waiting for me at the gate but no sign of Anna. I was a bit worried thinking maybe she'd had an argument and was hiding in the garden somewhere.

But no... her conversion from a street dog to a house dog continues and she passes every stage with flying colours. She had just spent her first ever night indoors.

And during the night she had nailed the best bed in the house and was reluctant to give it up. Next she'll be sharing HH's bed with Molly!

Good morning Anna! A new pack leader in the making, maybe?

^ Growling is my wife's default noise mate. Still, it's better than squawking I guess.

Maya didn't turn up for dinner tonight which is unheard of... so I went to search.

She'd had a raw pigeon starter... and FFS, she's supposed to be our highest class dog. I removed the carcass but to be honest there was only the head and feet left, loosely held together by some fragments of skin and entrails... just like a cat leaves on the door mat.

But I must admit, on reflection I'd rather eat a pigeon than a lot of the awful shite the wife eats; but to be fair at least the wife fries, pickles or ferments most of her 'food' first.

Anna continues to settle in, although I do sometimes wonder if she'd be happier outside. A long life in captivity versus a short life free? The perennial question... but for fucks sake I'm doing the long haul, so can Anna!

To be fair this isn't really captivity for Anna either as she has a lovely house, pool, pond, chairs to sleep on and fans to keep cool under during the day, and no wife. I'd swap.

    Anyway...

Anna's first night inside went well but she stole Coco's favourite spot on a chair. Coco will always be bottom of the pack but this didn't seem fair so I had a clean-out and brought up Coco's chair sister from the sala to the workshop, for Anna.

The new chair looked pretty well perfect to me, but not to Anna. She liked Coco's chair.

    Poor Coco...

And I guess this is what they call the 'Butterfly Effect'. Anna seems to have integrated nicely... but there are consequences.

Coco got pissed off and stole Tommy's bed.

Poor old Tommy was left bedless so slept next to our backdoor, by my shoes.... or 'Adda flip-flops' as Stumpy likes to call them, despite being an expensive imported brand.

And yes... the Butterfly Effect... then the wife fukked off 'up-country' for yet another funeral for some vaguely known Lao Khao and pla rha ridden 'friend' who had died young due to all the excessives they'll no doubt enjoy at the three day funeral.

If that is the 'Butterfly Effect', then it's great. Thank you Anna.

Tonight things are more relaxed... and not just for me.

Anna still has the chair but Coco is happy cos they all love Yogi!

And anyway, look back to this afternoon... Anna didn't care where she slept, she just wanted to be in control and liked the new chair.

Anna knows exactly what she's doing. She's for sure the most intelligent member of this pack... soon to be leader I reckon.

Anyway, good night Anna lovely to have you here,

And from the reciprocal direction... she's part of the pack!

    Anna's sorted.

    Now for me!

Took my 2 boys for a walk/ride today seems like something or someone interesting has passed by here.
We get some strange looks when we go out an about with the boys riding in the sidecar.
