^ A secondary big benefit of having females speyed is the prevention of cancers in their woman's bits... which are surprisingly common in older dogs.
Our dog turds go a long way over the wall onto overgrown vacant land... but I guess I'll need a new strategy if ever the land gets built on.
Maybe that would be more to Reg Dingle's satisfaction? But I still ain't inviting him over for a bbq party!
As the wife monopolises the TV 24/7 with Thai crap I tend to sit on the 'outside' sofa and watch Sky News on Youtube early evening but it can get a bit cosy at times. This was the first time Anna has jumped up to sit with me... she definitely seems to be feeling more at home.
I wish I could read her mind. There are times I wonder if bringing her in was the right thing to do, and that it was more to please me than her. I'm sure she misses the free life out on the street at times but it will always eventually end badly... a car accident or a poisoning. At least she's safe now.

^ Living the dream
Pool, sun, gym view, cannabis plants and surrounded by bitches
Rest assured MM, Anna gets a chew every morning. They go down fast with 7 dogs.
The Kommandant hasn't broached the subject yet, which I guess means Anna has tacit approval. Seeing as she introduced Maya last year she can't really complain... but I'm sure she will at some point.
'Those bloody dogs', etc etc...
Anna can't go back 'outside' now anyway, it just wouldn't be fair. She's got used to a new lifestyle and all her worries seem to have gone.
She hasn't yet built up the courage to sleep in the workshop with the others, but she has a nice bed and I tuck her in every night.
After her morning chew she has taken to warming up in the morning sun on the sofa.
And then after a few other snoozes at various locations she likes to stretch out in the afternoon sun on the 'lawn'.

^ Great to see her settling in, now all you have to do it get that rogue Yogi to stop being a sex pest.![]()
WHO'S NO.1 NOW? thats my girl. A
@mendip - good to see that Anna is adjusting well.
As to the question of whether she likes it better within your walls or being free on the road. I think that in her simple canine mind, not having to hunt for the next meal and having a dry, safe place to sleep beats being free "out there".
Dogs know when they have a good life. Example, my mom's dogs, whenever I'm at my mom's house, I release them out on the street during early morning & late at night when there are no/ very few cars on the road. (Yeah, a bit dangerous, but I'm mindful of the time that I let them out). After they have done their morning or night business, they always come to the gate to be let inside. My female dog usually comes home sooner than the male dog. The male dog, after he's done his stuff, usually wants to sniff more bushes and "bless" them. They always stay inside our gate because our town has laws re: stray dogs. If my dogs drop bombs on the street, I usually clean them up. Dogs know when they've got it good, and are loyal.
Btw, watch "A Dog's Purpose" and "A Dog's Journey" with your daughter. Will be great bonding time.
ye they dont like those fkin mossy's either, when i take molly out morning/eveniing i always carry one of those electronic bats with me [LUMIRA] good tooooooooooooo.fries them in a flash.
Thanks Katie. It's lovely to watch Anna gradually adjust to a new lifestyle and integrate with the other dogs.
I watched "A Dog's Journey" with the daughter a while ago and throroughly enjoyed it. I just checked and it doesn't seem to be on Netflix so I have no idea how we watched it... the other one doesn't seem to be on Netflix either. I really must learn how to download stuff as there's load of movies and series I want to watch. I have loads of series on DVD but no longer have a DVD player.
Anyway, things have been a little bit frosty in the Mendip household lately but today the wife unexpectedly brought me out a cup of coffee... so maybe the thaw has started?
Anna was fascinated by the smell of coffee... I forget that having spent her life on the street there are many things she has never before experienced.
Tommy tried his best to get Anna to play... but she's not yet ready for that.

@mendip - A Dog's Purpose (book1/ movie1) and A Dog's Journey (b2/m2) are adaptations of books from the same author. They're standalone books & movies but A Dog's Purpose is essentially part 1. Another movie is "A Dog's Way Home" (same author but different characters).
Another dog film that I'll recommend is "White God". It's a Hungarian film. I haven't watched it, but I've watched the recap. It's a bit dark, but I think it's a good film for children as there are lessons to be learned.

Happy watching with the kiddo!![]()
^ Yes she did Shutree, and not for the first time. I'm starting to think her mug selection isn't altogether random.
Yeah, I have considered getting a new DVD player but I don't think that's the way to go... I rarely get access to the TV at home due to a daily avalanche of child-like news shows in the morning (today there was a dancing cat on) and of course the afternoon fare of puerile Thai soaps. I've seen better acting in the amateur dramatics Christmas pantomime in my mum's village.
I tend to watch the occasional show/movie on my laptop either out back with the dogs or with my headphones on in bed.
And thanks Dirk for the tip, I'll check it out. All I'm after is the complete Cheers series, the complete Frasier series and the complete Only Fools and Horses Series. And of course Two and a Half Men up to when Charlie Sheen left (Series 9 I think). That lot would keep me going for years. Oh, and Katie's dog movies of course!
MM... I've starting giving the dogs a fried egg on top of their evening meal twice a week and they absolutely love it. We're getting around 20 eggs a day at the moment so I need to distribute a few to keep my cholesterol down.
Wow, thanks Katie for the tips. I hope the Hungarian one has subtitles.
Ya know Mike, Yogi is absolutely despicable but I can't help feeling he's a chip off the old block. I had a few moves when I was still alive many years ago.
Tonight while sitting here I watched Anna slip off to do her business in private and Yogi slunk straight onto her bed.
She didn't know what to do when she came back... to be honest it was a move I would have been proud of in my younger years.

Can everyone stop showing the Wurzel how to get free TV.
What are we gonna do for entertainment?![]()
In case you haven't been keeping up with News Dill he's only got one TV that is getting screen burn from Lakorn 24/7 - he's to tight to buy himself a TV for the man sala.
Or boxsets that were a dime a dozen here over Xmas
And what kind of bloke watches Cheers, The Golden Girls and fukkin Frasier?
I can't make him out. He can't be that tight, he's waltzing around with his multi tool hoe, drinking Lao Khao in those Lazada wicked pants and Songkran nylon shirts with a 20k Rolex on his wrist![]()
I say the same thing and scratch my head. We saw his attire drying on the fence and we know he thinks dressing up is wearing Jesus Slippers. He drinks vinegar out of a box and when not enjoying that he knocks back paint thinner with a Leo on ice chaser or maybe the paint thinner is the chaser. He has a gardener on the payroll but no one really knows what he does but it's clearly not gardening. He eats fish out of a pea green pond. His feet are a mess and he works basically half naked in his yard but like you said he sports a Rolex. I am starting to understand why his wife is plastered to a TV 24/7.
Morning Mendy. Happy Friday![]()
