^ To be honest I've stopped all that carry on these days mate.

I haven't done it all year!

When I watch the dogs eat their chewy treats every morning I often give a silent word of thanks that I have opposable thumbs.

    Life must be difficult without.

    Reg...?

Good to see Anna and company doing so well, Mendip.
The little black puppy is soo cute, I hope you can find a home for her.. so sad to hear about her brother though
Will you keep the pup if you can't find her a home? I hope so for her sake. HNY Mendip and family!

^ Sadly the girl puppy died yesterday and now they're both buried together. I think they were taken away from their mother way too young, and didn't stand a chance.

I can't take in any more MM. Puppies are lovely of course, but they grow up presenting a whole load of new relationships and jealousies with the other members of the pack and we have enough (too many?) as it is.

Anyway, every morning the dogs get one of these chewy, stick treat thingies.

Six of the dogs wolf down theirs immediately but Lola just holds hers in her mouth, looking stupid.

Why she does this I do not know, but I do know that it will result in a fight one day.

Maya wants it badly, and pretends to get busy nearby while plotting how to steal it.

So Lola goes over to eat it right in front of Maya.

The intensity... I'm just crossing my fingers that there is no fight...

... which seems pretty inevitable... I've seen Maya give that look before.

But no... phew! The tension broken.

I misread that one, maybe Lola was playing all along, and Maya was joining in?

The pack have become quite unsettled lately and I wonder if my nervousness is putting them on edge? A few months ago I wouldn't have worried about Lola and Maya. I think I need to relax.

    ^ I think you're probably right.

But you know what they say... 'never go on a passport run with an open foot wound.'

An empty Ya Dong table. A familiar sight these days.

    Look again.

This nearly went in the Daily Cheer thread, and then the Daily Fish thread, but ended up here.

My fish shirt finally arrived today... ha pea days!

Now I know my correct size on the US size chart I can really go to town and refresh my wardrobe.

Yep, US size Medium. Sounds better than my usual XXL.

I just need to find the right opportunity to wear it now.

    Passport renewal, here we come!

Combined with jeans and a decent pair of leather sandals, I will look the absolute bollocks!

I practiced my Sukhumvit pose, pint in one hand, whisky in the other... although I had to improvise with a Leo and a Ya Dong.

Needless to say, the girls went wild.

In fact, they went so wild I had to go in and take off my new shirt.

I don’t think jeans would help that ensemble.

^ Yeah well, you Aussies were never known for your fashion sense...

Doesn't she just make your heart melt?

Anna's life has definitely been a game of two halves... first half homeless, abused, beaten, half starved and alone. Second half... much loved and on her chair.

I sometimes think she doesn't leave her chair because she just still can't believe all of this is real, and will last? Even now, after she's been with us for over three years.

Mind you... the wife rarely leaves the sofa... but for entirely different psychological reasons, I reckon.

I'm no doctor, but I diagnose 'bone fukking idleness'.

Anyway, today... poor Anna. It was dog bed airing day.

    But she found a way.

    Love her to bits.

The chair is what she has wanted all her life. Home. To her that is her safe and secure home. My two cents worth anyway.

I've not seen it brought up.

    And maybe for good reason.

Is there a special place where they all, ahem, do their business? Like a corner of the garden or somewhere where they all go to have a poop? 7 large dogs must create quite a bit of fertilizer per week.

^ They're not that large really. I bet that Stumpy's four labs have a greater biomass and produce more waste than my meager seven mutts.

... I was about to expand, but to be honest Kier Starmer has just come on, doing some sanctimonious speech on Sky, and it's so toe-curlingly, excrutionately un-listenable that I will cut this post short. I mean Jaysus... I have chronic insomnia and I reckon Kier could solve that.

    Kier... insomnia solver ... Starmer

Dear God, I will concentrate on cooking. And I hate cooking.

But yes, 7 x 2 + 14. A lot of dog poo but we are blessed with a lot of vacant land around out boundary walls, so no problem. They tend to stick to three preferred spots, but when it rains there are a few done on the concrete drive. I guess they don't like to get their feet wet when pooing.

    Can't blame 'em for that.

I think so mate. To be honest, if I'm proud of one thing I've done in my life, it's giving Anna a home. She's difficult with the other girls but it's not her fault, we are but a product of our experiences.

I love her to bits, as does Yogi but he still steals her chair, the heel-biting bugger.

Lola's outside family were particularly boisterous this morning, before school.

The move is back on and Vua and Kamkoon will be leaving soon (courtesy of my Vigo). I'm secretly hopeful of a bit of 'Pajama action' in the near future, but that will remain private. I may show Lola's mother and sister's new house though... it's all dogs.

Tem is in a real state now, too many bitches in heat this time of year and fight after fight. I've been treating him with Betadine but wish he would look after himself. All those injuries just for a shag.

Here's hoping that I get a few injuries soon!

If you can't be good be careful.

I recall the big fat Mamma in Tom and Jerry with the frying pan.
I have noticed how the most couchful/slouchful ladies can be invigourated when their meal ticket loss of face is imperilled

we don't wish to read in Mskit's news updates
"Esan Shocker" Borat of Korat locked in doghouse pajama less, frozen assets and tool removed.

Maybe it's something to do with that stalky bitey white mongrel

And what a transformation you've performed
Let's have another look and remind ourselves how unhappy and unfit she was until you came along, rescued, got rid of her kids and the hope of anymore and nurtured her to full health.... whilst mostly sat on a boat on the North Sea or bar stool in the passport office.

    Before

    After

    ^ You embarrass me, mate!

I don't really think of myself as a true, cloak-wearing super hero.

Please, just treat me the same as anyone else.

And anyway, I think that after 3 years Anna has finally made a friend... of the girl variety.

I was referring to Anna and how super she is by not turning on her captor after years of being locked up, attacked and raped by the ugliest bitiest dog in Isarn.

Although I did watch something on the tv last night that reminded me of you..

It was this Indian mahoot in skimpy torn pants being gored and trampled all over by a wild animal that he also thoght he'd saved and tamed and turned into a bestie for life.

It was good viewing though,- When animals attack

    The Orca part was brutal.

Anna has always been free to leave and I have tested that on several occasions, but she likes it and enjoys her life here, I reckon.

And Yogi ain't ugly and it's not rape. He's just a bit rough around the edges... as are the wounds on my right heel.

Anyway, Anna reminded me today that I haven't had a pint of Blackthorn for yonks.

She also reminded me that Bristol City are hosting Wolves today at midday (UK), as they continue their march towards the FA Cup final.

Finally, a match on at a decent time. I hope it's on telly and I can watch it in bed. Otherwise it'll be the usual of falling asleep to Radio 5 commentary with me headphones on.

Our prediction is 3-2 City and knock those Midlands fukkers out.

Maybe City will use the classic 1-1-1 formation, Anna up front, Yogi giving her service from right of centre and Max at right back?

Hate to disillusion you but I'm pretty sure due to long training it'll be service from the rear as usual.

    Thanks for some fun pictures

I'm in Brum now and will try and get you some pics of joyous yam yams coming the other way up the m40 soon, pulling moonies and flying their flags from their cars.

It'll make a change from it not being Cyrille's team from the other half of their little town coming away with the easy pickings
