^^ green owed for the decent drink. I quite like Aberfeldy. Mild peat with a smooth taste.

^ I quite like Aberfeldy but prefer the Highland Park.
To be honest the reason I often get Aberfeldy as a second bottle is that I can hide the short, stubby bottle on it's side at the bottom of my carry-on backpack.
I gave it to her, along with a couple of other treats I picked up on the taxi ride up the hill to Korat, but she hasn't actually worn it yet.
It's a bit hot for a fleece, to be honest.
Is the highland park a blend or a single malt? I’m not sure I know it.
lovely smooth Orkney Malt, would quaff regularly if locally available.
I prefer Laphroaig, Bowmore at a lower price point, of course the older years 15,18 24 come with a cost for the storage. I only use a drop of water and for those who pour anything from sparkling mineral water soda at the acceptable end to the showboaters I've seen esp in Macao ruining fine malts with pepsi and worse, they don't really appreciate the taste just wwant to show off ...swankers.
Well done Mendy home run r and r before next tour
Thanks david, this will be the first decent amount of time spent at home since June, so it'll be good to get reacquainted with every one and thing.
I think a regular offshore work rotation will suit me well since I can spend a month in Korat no problem, without getting too despondent and then I get a month of work and Western company. So long as there's no adverse effect on the daughter I'll try and keep it going through this busy period in the industry.
The dogs seemed to enjoy having me back - I think they've been a bit starved of human company while I've been away - and they all turned out for the first fishing session of the season.
Hang about... where's Yogi and Anna?
Aaah... of course.
Yogi seems to think that he's on a promise... and even had a bath tonight.
I've raised him well.
^Sweet pics of the doggies! Welcome back to Thailand. I'm sure they have missed you so much.
^ Thanks MM... it's good to be back, I guess.
My first morning home, and one thing I have already noticed is that Anna is much more relaxed and seems to be joining in with the pack activities more than previously, although maybe being in season and having Yogi's head permanently inserted up her backside gives here a bit more confidence?
No real relevance, but just a nice pic of Coco and Lola playing. Once Lola has worn out Maya, she starts on Coco... her energy is boundless.
Both street dogs... both wonderful.
I have often wondered if it's possible to train a dog to bark when a float goes under? Stumpy? You have experience of proper dogs with breeding, not these daft mutts that I seem to accumulate. Is that training possible, you reckon? It would make my fishing sessions an awful lot easier.
If ever there's been a look on a dog's face that says, 'I'm getting a shag later', more than this, then I'd like to see it. Anna seemed pretty relaxed about upcoming proceedings as well.
I used to also get that look on my face, occasionally, about 40 years ago.
I seem to remember...
Yeah, I may well be a bit envious but Yogi's still great to sit with on an evening... really easy company...
But fuck it, there's no point in living in the past.
At some point you have to face the reality of the situation.
Ah well...
But bloody Yogi... tonight he's taken Anna's bed... and I know exactly what he's up to... a play straight out of my book when camping at Glastonbury in 1983.
I've gotta hand it to him, fair play.

^ Who let the dogs in?
Who, who, who, who, who?
Is the kommandant sleeping outside under that XXXL fleece?
Is it entry level or master level?
^^ The gardener has been helping out... and it's not often that can be said.
^^^ It's the wife's Birthday today and she hasn't even worn her new fleece. I don't know why I bother, to be honest.
^ She doesn't look at Teakdoor.
We've barbequed a nice pla nin and a few shrimps. They may even make an appearance in the Dinner thread, later.
Itd be interesting to hear the response from...
"Hey sweetheart, some guy called King Willy wished you an happy birthday"
Would save him getting the Norwegian whale oil out tonight, I reckon
I did consider passing on DrWilly's regards.
Nah, I'm lying. It didn't even cross my mind for one nano second, but the thought is much appreciated.
I usually tell the wife that I'm doing 'work emails' in the evening as I'd rather not have her know that a large part of my social life these days is spent communicating with anonymous 'people' on the internet.
And no whale oil required, thank you.
Anyway, after a nice family barbecued pla nin, the wife went out to celebrate her Birthday with with the usual gang of retards and half-witted family members down at a local 'bar', I wonder who pays that bill. I couldn't make it because I have a few 'work emails' to do tonight!
I couldn't help noticing that my lovely little Kommandant left the house with war paint applied, but sans her Birthday fleece.
So as usual, Anna did the honours.
I was hoping to get the perfect photo, but Yogi can't resist a girl in a Birthday fleece and ruined the photo shoot.
Yogi's really pissing everyone off at the moment with his constant yelping and whining while he hassles Anna non-stop. I noticed that he had a new cut on his face today and I think Anna must have finally lost patience with him last night and had a go.
Stay safe, Anna.
My wife thought it was pretty weird that I was organising a drink with Reg/ dill. on the darkside in pattaya . But she soon saw the funny side. Fucking great night out.

Jaysus, do you think Mendy is completely stup…
oh.
^ Not nice, mate.
The wife is yet another year older and PJG is looking more attractive by the day right now, although to be fair I haven't set eyes on her for a few months now.
I dare say she will be getting older as well.
Anyway, after the wife set out for Retardsville last night for her Birthday celebrations, I distributed seven pieces of barbecued pla nin skin to our dogs... but there was no sign of Maya... unheard of with food on offer.
I eventually found her down by the pond amongst a pile of feathers. Yes, another of the neighbour's chickens had made a one-way trip across the wall, into our garden.
Looking well sheepish, she ran past me with something disgusting in her mouth, and retired to the 'dog sofa'.
I found a horrible 'lump' down by the pond, and another halfway between pond and sofa which I have since identified as probably gizzard and stomach, neither of which Maya must have found particularly tempting.
She did, however, enjoy crunching up the head on the sofa. It was quite disgusting and a reminder of how close to feral these lovely pet dogs can be.
Maya had eaten an entire chicken (bar gizzard and stomach), which I guess will have weighed a couple of kilos, ie a full Sunday roast for my strange family of wife, gardener, meself and daughter. And she started doing some fowl () smelling belches later on while I was watching Sky News on telly.
I must admit that I thought twice about allowing Maya to sleep on my bed after hearing her crunching up the chicken head and beak, and smelling her farts, but fuck it, the wife gnaws on chicken feet and I still sleep next to her on occasion.
Not so very different.
The day she sits down to read your Teakdoor posts will be your last day on earth…
Post reported, and saved for when I have ammo.
^^ You workout naked too? And I thought it was a "me" thing.
