^ I hope Mooky picks up. I guess we can all have off days without it being anything serious and I hope that's the case.
I thought I should try and update this thread which ain't so easy while I'm away from home.
To be honest I think that I'm generally a good husband, I provide well and my tastes are pretty traditional apart from at Christmas of course when I like to bring out the Santa costume, and all I ask in return is for few pictures of the dogs when I'm away.
Anyway, after two and a half weeks the wife must have finally stirred herself from the sofa and today I received a batch of photos... well, seven to be precise, one of each dog. It goes without saying that an eighth picture of Moodeng was not an option.
Here's our pack leader, Max, looking particularly dopey. This picture did in fact cheer me up as it looks as though the gardener has started pressure washing the concrete to remove all the black algae stuff.
Yogi... of course when the concrete is cleaned up it just shows up how badly the walls need repainting.
And our third boy, Tommy. This was the last usable photo. I really don't know why it's so difficult to take a picture that's in focus and includes the whole dog, preferably looking in the general direction of the camera, but it seems to be impossible. I have to be thankful for three OK pictures and the three boys all look healthy and happy.
Frustrated, I asked the daughter to help out with pictures of the girls. Things appeared to start badly and I will doubtless be blamed for the new hole in her T-shirt, as I will doubtless be the one who replaces it when I get home.
But the daughter generally takes a good picture and obviously did not inherit her mother's photographic genes. I think I can take some credit here.
Anyway, Coco looking good! I can see that the palms need a bit of attention in removing the dead fronds but I generally find it better if I keep the gardener away from plants so I'll attend to that when I get home.
Anna on her chair... where else? She's also looking good and her diet appears to be working. She's lost that clinically obese look and is now down to the 'carrying a few extra pounds' stage that I know so well.
A nice picture of Lola who will be out sleeping with the others at night now that I'm away.
After seeing this picture I noticed how nice the pond area looks now that it's slightly overgrown with the long grass. I prefer it to look wild and it gives the snakes and lizards a chance to hide from the dogs. I messaged the wife asking her to tell the gardener to leave the grass to grow and not cut it, and she gave me quite a curt reply and I wondered why. I now realise that she must have assumed I was being sarcastic about the gardener's lack of mowing and as sure as eggs are eggs, it will be mowed short tomorrow. I guess this is my fault for being 'continually sarcastic and negative' (as the wife puts it). I should have just kept quiet.
Anyway, the pond area did look nice this evening.
And of course this only leaves Maya. It is impossible to get a picture of Maya without Lola as they still seem to be inseparable, which is lovely to see.
Before I left home I asked the daughter to spend half an hour every evening sitting down by the pond with the dogs (sans Leo). They love the company and it gets her off her screens... naah, who am I kidding... she'll be sitting in the sala under the fan watching Youtube, the bugger.
The daughter has struck up a friendship with Pajama Girl and said that she'll pop up for a caramel slurpy this weekend and take a picture of Moodeng for me. I must admit that I find that a little bit disturbing.

There can be few better sights in life than a happy puppy!
I had another update yesterday and Moodeng is blossoming.
What a gorgeous little girl.
She's turning into a real little beauty and once that aft, port side leg has strengthened up a bit I'm sure that Yogi would love a crack at her.
I wouldn't mind a cra... actually, I'll hold that thought right there!
The return of Moodeng! - YouTube
Moodeng has a blockage.
Pajama Girl messaged me yesterday to say that she's off her food and hasn't passed a stool in two days... Moodeng that is.
She took Moodeng along to the vet where she was given saline solution and and some medication to help matters along, I guess the canine equivalent of prune juice. Her blood work was fine, thankfully.
The worry is that the damage to her hip and pelvis may have caused some restriction to her her colon. During her operations the vet tried to widen out the passage around her crushed pelvis but this was always a worry. As is often the case in these matters, one thing has consequences elsewhere in the body and there is a risk that further surgery may be necessary to make things good for the long term.
Moodeng is still happy and continually wags her tail, and doesn't really understand what all the worry is about. She's been through a lot and I'm amazed at how cheerful she's remained throughout. Let's hope this is the final hurdle.
Meanwhile I'm waiting to hear from PJG whether she did a big poo during the night.
Moodeng, that is.
Moodeng is still blocked and I'm getting very worried. I think that fixing bones is one thing but digestive problems are a different thing altogether. This little dog doesn't seem to be getting much luck.
PJG messaged me this morning to say that despite the medication, she's been trying to poo all night but nothing is coming out. Moodeng, that is.
So that means nothing for at least four days. I said to get Moodeng back to the vet pronto to try and find out the cause of this. The vet knows Moodeng's history and will have a good idea whether the surgery on her pelvis could be causing this restriction to her colon. If she needs surgery I'm in favour of getting it done as soon as possible while she's still strong. I can't see any benefit in delaying it, if it's necessary.
Here they are, waiting at the vet.
Around 20 minutes after this she had a partially successful enema. Moodeng, that is.
The immediate pressure is off and hopefully more 'procedures' will clear the remainder of the blockage and then we need to find the cause of this. Moodeng is staying at the vet for a few days under observation.
It's a good job I'm working at the moment.
^
Her diet obviously needs to be looked at (Moodeng that is.....). Our dogs are all on dry food, which makes their poo very solid (and easy to pick up if in a human pedestrian area - we always carry small plastic bags). Guess it might just be a case of getting the diet right, hopefully rather than another surgical intervention required.
Looks like someone's been the hair salon and done a bit of clothes shopping with your change.PJG that is
Get well soon Moodeng
^ The vet's fees have been quite high lately!
^^ I wonder if we've overdone the cheese PAG? It may be high in calcium but I think it's known to bung you up a bit.
I hope it is just the diet as that is easy to change. As far as I know Moodeng gets a lot of soups and mince... of course with rice. It would seem strange to me if it was anything to do with her pelvis as why would that happen now and not a couple of months ago before the ops?
She may just have picked up a bit of plastic from the floor or something?
We shall see.
^
Remember that her skeletal frame is still growing, and that in itself could impact on restricted digestive system.
^ I can put in a request if you're interested but I'm completely reliant on PJG for any videos or photos at the moment.
Of Moodeng, of course.
That's a very good point PAG. I am sure that the vet has considered this as he's been so good. I've recently discovered that a lot of other vets in Korat send difficult surgery cases to our vet because he has such a good reputation. He's the only vet I'd use in Korat for anything remotely serious.
The news this morning is that a bit more of the blockage has passed and Moodeng subsequently ate her first food in over five days. She's been fed by drip in the meantime to keep her strength up.
It seems that a piece of blue nylon rope and some wire came out. It's apparently a mystery where it came from although seeing as Moodeng is confined to a single room at the moment I think it a mystery not too hard to solve, if the will was there.
I think this is excellent news as we were worried that her blocked intestine may have been caused by the crushed pelvis she suffered after the road accident, but thankfully it seems not.
There is still some wire that needs to come out. Hopefully now that she's eating again, nature will take it's cause with no more intervention necessary.
My suspicion is that she gets bored on her own and now that she's getting stronger it may be time to introduce her to other dogs for the stimulation.
Good news indeed.
PJG keeps wire and rope handy.
^ I'll try anything once!
Moodeng is unblocked!
Pajama Girl sent me a message today to say that she passed a big stool during the night that contained the last of the wire and bits of nylon rope and stuff and she now has a completely unblocked intestine. I'm not one hundred percent sure how it was determined that the stool contained the foreign bodies and I don't want to know.
This is great news and now Moodeng is back home without having needed surgery, and saving her sponsor a few thousand Baht to boot!
PJG sent me a couple of pictures today and she looked so happy and frisky that I wished I was there.
But anyway, here's a couple of pics of a very smiley Moodeng back home in the shop.
The look of relief... it doesn't get better than that!
I can't help feeling that Moodeng's adventures don't end here... she's that kind of dog.

Takes me back to the summer solstice festival in 79' stonehenge and the feeling I had back home on the throne after 4 days.
No more information needed about the foreign objects passed, thanks.
I came across a couple of moodeng youtubes today . Fascinating how she is getting around now and in all different positions. Moodeng that is.
^ I'm thinking of monetising it... Moodeng's getting a lot of hits lately and we're almost into treble figures for some of the 'Shorts'.
Here's Moodeng eating her breakfast this morning, All seems to be back to normal.
Not for the first time I'm left shaking my head at the quality of photographs that I'm sent.

^ Yeah, I though that.
Either that or she's borrowed one of Edmond's pudding bowls.
That's one happy looking dog now.
Can't beat a decent turn out in the morning.
^ That's a very cynical viewpoint Mike...
