Bit traditional, but easy to pronounce for a Thai, "Lassie".

^^ PAG, I thought that when naming Lola, but after watching the wife and gardener struggle so badly with 'Rora', 'Lora' and 'Laurel', I now think it better to avoid 'L' as well. But this may just apply to this household.
I must go, the wife has just made me a banana and water meron smoothie.

Had a beer in a Thai Bar with a Thai Band playing Johnny Cash cover of "Ling" of Fire. Seriously funny!
^ Good, sometimes I wonder if it's just my household that seems to have all these issues.
'Moodeng' is looking more and more likely with all these restrictions. I spoke to Pajama Girl this morning and she thought that a name reflecting a second life may be appropriate. I don't really want to name her 'Jesus' but then came up with 'Angel', and then PJG said the Thai name for angel which sounded OK, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was just now.
Anyway, little 'Moodeng' is having the second op on her pelvis right now, as I type. This is the bigger of the two ops so fingers crossed all goes well. I'll pop in to see her on the way back from school, about 4pm ish.
I haven't worked now since the end of June and am only starting to relax. It takes me a while to settle in to the Isaan way. There's good and bad I guess, but a plus for me is a half hour swim every morning (60 lengths)... with an audience of course. Anna rarely visits with the others but today she came along to watch as well.
But not for long...
Yogi really is a pest.

Raw ti song
or words to that effect. Second cycle
โดนรถ transliterated. Means hit by car.
Ka hak Broken leg.

Kim means stitches.
Kao Kim - 9 stitches, for example.
^ Not this Isaanite, unfortunately.
Ka = leg
Yang?
Knowing you Helge, it's probably rude and therefore inappropriate.
Norton, I agree and ran this past PJG.
She reckoned that 'Thep' sounded masculine and preferred 'Nang faa' for a female, reborn angel.
To me this doesn't work... every time you tell her to sit (nang) she wouldn't know if you're using her abbreviated name or giving her a command.
PJG assured me that the sit 'nang' is a short sound and wouldn't be confused with the angel 'nang', which is a long sound. I didn't say anything, but fuk me, this is a traumatised dog and I don't think she should be expected to understand the intricacies of Thai language phonetics.
VC, how do you say the 'hit by car' stuff?
Raw ti song... the dreaded 'R'...
Broken leg... sounds like one of those red Indian names?
Kim... I like that name. Maybe even 'Kym' for a girl? It's on the list.
We popped in to see 'Moodeng' on the way home from school, and she wagged her little tail like mad. Today she had a big op on her pelvis and has a freshly shaved right leg, or 'ka', and was looking very much the worse for wear.
But... she's been eating since the op and her eyes look strong. She certainly hasn't given up.
I had a long chat with the attractive girl vet (the main man vet surgeon was in surgery with another dog and unavailable), and she showed me the before and after Xrays.
Before... with the right side of the pelvis crushed and out of place. I guess the forceps are holding the broken bone before relocating it.
And after... with a brand new (titanium?) screw in place to hold it all together. I certainly hope it wasn't steel, galvanised by the b@stard that did my guttering.
I must admit that my first involvement with little 'Deang' was mainly in the assumption that I'd be financing a peaceful end to a short and loveless life. As things progressed... well, the thread tells it all... She will never be in the dog Olympics but she has a good chance of a long and enjoyable life, and that makes me feel really good. Hopefully without sounding too wankish.
I had a long chat with Pajama Girl tonight and made it clear that, after my chat with the vet, 'Deang' may always be a house dog. Deang can have a good life but movement may be limited and she could never compete with active street dogs for food, or be mobile enough to avoid more traffic.
Pajama Girl understands and is happy with that. She's a good soul and will take good care. To be honest, under different circumstances I would love to take her in to live in our house so that I could take care of her properly.
And the dog could come as well!
Anyway, humour aside, and I don't want to be a stickler for the rules, but wasn't every name nomination supposed to come with a donation for the vet's bill?
Only joking... and NPT, I know you would prefer not to be named, but a very kind offer but I will cover this. Many thanks. I think that should be noted.

Little 'Moodeng' is coming home tomorrow. Well, when I say 'coming' I mean 'going', as she will be heading back to Pajama Girl's place where she will get endless, loving care.
Fingers crossed as we don't actually know how mobile she will be.., there's been major trauma and significant structural damage, but time, the will to live and nature can be a wonderful thing.
I popped in to see her on the way to school today as it was a late pick-up and I wanted to avoid the worse of already intolerable traffic.
Jess again asked me what a 'fukkin w@nker ' is, and I had to just say a 'Thai who doesn't indicate'.
To be honest, if that last photo doesn't melt your heart, then nothing will. PJG has prepared a small area for 'Moodeng' to convalesce in... she must not move around too much for a few days while bones fuse and muscles repair. .
I think that our dogs wold accept Moodeng no problem, as she's completely submissive and no threat, but her rehabilitation will be time consuming and hard work and I just don't have the time (or the support from Das Kommandant).
PJG will take on that role. I would still like her to stay with us...
But the wife would go fukkin mental!
Anyway, TeakDoorists... I went inside the cage to get a lovely pic (with o bars)...
This is what we should be doing?
Whatever the result, this has been great. There is still one more issue... I have been trying to pay the bill for a couple of days now but they keep saying, pay on 'Line' no problem.
The vet, Lazada, Shoppee, etc.... all have the wife's number. What's the point in calling me?
The bill is all arranged, but this is Thailand and if it can possibly go wrong, it will.
I just know that that the bill will go to the wife's account.

That is about the best hang dog look ive seen, bless.
Well done Mendip!!!
^ Thank you mate.
I don't care what the others say, I think you're OK!
She has sad cow eyes.
How do you say that in Thai?
Taa vua would be cow eyes, I think but I don't know about sad.
It's a bit of a mouthful and PJG already has a dog called 'Vua', Lola's mum.
I don't think this will go in the hat.
The naming is becoming critical now as 'Moodeng' is coming home at lunchtime.
Mendao.
She's a star and you mended her.
Taakwai
^ I just spent ages saying 'taak wai' into my Google translator and got a different result each time, none of which made any sense.
Then it dawned on me... taa kwai, 'Buffalo Eyes'
I like that and I'll put it forward!
PJG will surely consider anything with 'Buffalo' to be insulting.
Which is rather unfair on such a noble animal, but there it is.
^ Thanks, retracted!
Sorry, VN.
I'm not sure about 'Smelly star' either.
