    Crazy Farangs Peanut butter.

Hi all. I just started producing my own, all natural/nothing added, brand of peanut butter. I am looking for retail outlets in northeast Thailand, not Big C, Makro, Villa, or Lotus. I am located in Udon Thani. I have 2 varieties, creamy and creamy with honey, in 2 Lb jars. I will give a great wholesale price with reasonable mark-up opportunity to retailers and still sell for less than currently available.
    Thanks,
    John

Sounds like a good idea as it's so overpriced but...crunchy, dude.

    Crazy Falang Peanut Butter

Crunchy is popular too but more than 2x as labor intensive hence 2 types of smooth. Crunchy may come later. It is not only a cheaper product, but healthier than almost anything else available now.

Thai peanuts ain't the tastiest though, eh?

Anyway, good luck. Certainly a gap in the market as circa 170 baht for a small tub puts it out of the question for many a local.

Thanks. Thai peanuts taste just fine after they are roasted, and especially good shelled and made into peanut butter...

I don't think they taste fine at all. They taste kind of waxy like Thai potatoes. They may well taste fine in peanut butter. Just don't make them chicken flavoured, OK?

If you are producing on a largish scale like that do your products have to be Thai health certificated ?

The recipe is very simple, ground roast peanuts, nothing added, plus honey for the honey flavored.
Why anyone would post pictures of boils here is beyond me...

You obviously haven't been here long, nor do you know your market.

peanuts didn't contain enough natural oils for a decent emulsion - needed to provide a smooth texture - when I tried it. Cashews on the other hand did. As I wrote in a long ago thread, a touch of salt and a dash of high quality oil (peanut?) makes a hell of a difference.

Peanuts are naturally healthy, just as they are, and I have been making them with no additives, for friends and family for 2 years now. Almost everyone loves it just as it is, even the Thais. If anyone needs a touch of salt, that's what saltshakers are for. Yes, all natural peanut butter needs to be stirred, as the oil rises to the top of the jar.
