The same can be said about another mans livelihood. Were you not gloating over Pie man a couple of days ago on Thaivisa? ''No wonder you're an ex teacher!'' you sniped, If i recall.
In his defence, Pieman seemed to have a ''one off'' with Grammatical error, which is rare for him. So Its all a bit rich coming from you, especially with your appalling standards of written English.

The angst derives from long-time former SF members/Surin residents whom were unnecessarily dismissed from said regional forum and have had deep issues with Dave, Alan, and Danny from years on......[especially David P - an hypocritical and sociopathic cvnt]

Kind of a cliquey thing, only understood if one was ever associated with Surin Farang Forum a/o the local Surin expat community.

DTD, has created this protective little bubble in that forum, where he bans anyone that questions him and manipulates the narrative to which suits him best. Taking gutter snipes at those no longer with a voice is par for the course. For instance, the time where he took a nasty dig at Pieman for donning the Orange robes at his Father in laws funeral. It bit him in the arse mind you, other members didn't take too kindly to such blatant disgrace. You can only get away for it for so long.
So obviously, when DTD pops up now and then onto a level playing field like this, he's gonna get full barrells.

Personally, I don't have any issues with Danny and ATB. I've said it all along, that forum (Business enterprise, Dave the Dudes own words) would perform a hell of a lot better without DTD trashing the place.

Yes, only a fool would give personal details to join a forum. With defamation laws in this country being so strict one could be left in a compromising situation.

I believe AlanTheBuilder needs to abandon the SF ship.
Been dead in water for time now.

Truly a shame for what used to be a valuable regional forum.

Add another to the list of people who tried to sign up and were asked to provide a phone number for some ‘verification’. This was several years ago, and before that I had think I might have had a username for a minute to post some stuff for sale before this whole ‘verification - we will contact you’ faggotry started.

I think I remember trying to recover that password only to find that I had been ‘banned’ under that username and to contact the ‘admin’ witch I did, to no response. Only then did I research what was going on. Laughable.

I was asked by a couple people why I wanted to move ‘to bangkok of all places’ and this stupidity is one of the reasons why.

Surin is ok. Boring as shit but ok. Its the people and the lack of amenities that get in my shit after a while. I see it asked sometimes why ‘farang’ don’t like to talk to one another and act like they don’t exist in public. This would be a good reason why.

I go to the foreigner places occasionally over the years, like Farang Connection (before the owners death and the subsequent shitshow that it is now) and its comical. Gossip. Hatred. One-upmanship. Shit service by haggard old hookers who act like gods gift. Same as the foreigner places in Prasat. Haggard ole kunts, both the service and the patrons.

I hang out with a very select few other foreigners in Surin and Prasat, and when I go other places where caucasians congregate, its like I have to ‘verify’ my ‘thailand credentials’ and wether or not I’m a ‘tourist’ with a girl I met ‘in pattaya’ because I’m a younger dude, meanwhile, back at the ranch, Ive been farting around the place longer than these knuckleheads.

Go into a bar, and as a younger American its laughable. Geriatric Englishmen who hate the world, shitcanning everything about Thailand and the thais to the point that it makes even myself uncomfortable. Shitcanning the US and UK like they know it all. Statements like "In the UK its like this and like that" and "the Americans bla bla" I mean I've been asked shit like "do you know why everyone hates Americans?" from toothless little englanders in a bumfuck Prasat bar... Laughable. Women that stole their shit. On and on and on. Depressing & boring as fuck.

Walk through Makro or Lotus or Robinson, same. Depressing mofos everywhere who avert any eye contact or pleasantries like the plague. These are the mental dwarves that frequent SF. It gives them a sense of being someone and not the financial doormat they are, in reality.

Ah yeah, got a Robinson now. Woop-Dee-Doo. Have a Cinema with films in English sometimes. Sometimes. Oh and Tops. Thats actually good. Go in there in shorts & flip flops to get some groceries and the pseudo intellectual wanna be china-thais all dolled up like grocery shopping is some fashionable thing, with their full grown adult pale skinned son on their arm hanging onto mommy. Cringe.

Go in there and fill up an entire basket to the tune of 7-8K baht and the cashiers, you can see the wtf on their face. The look that someone would ‘waste’ all that money when you can get 'same at market' when you cant, otherwise I would be getting 'same at market' already.

Dont get me wrong, Surin itself is cool. Cheap. Decent enough place and nowadays there is enough there to satisfy the basic needs of foreigners. Decent internet is available (by thai standards) if you are not too far out in the Thesaban. Not bad if you can look past all the BS and want a quiet life. There is a decent enough free government gym in town that has good free weights. Actually Free. Im over it though. 9 years is enough. Wasting the best years of my life with this shit.

This Surin Farang and Farang Connection clique is a laughable shitshow and "dave the dude" "alan the builder" etc. are fucking idiots.

Why anyone would pay some stupid foreigner a handsome premium to have local Thais on shitty day rate build a house is beyond me. Why anyone would think that a foreigner doing houses in Isaan is some kind of professional is laughable. People coming and trying to 'start a business' and fucking people over in a desperate attempt to stay in that dustbowl just highlights the examples of sub-humanity that the place brings.

    Anyway dear diary

    Nice commentary, Slick.

I'm sure Surin proper has changed dramatically since the years of my residency [1999-2009], when Farang were still an oddity and terribly clannish.
I know the Farang population has grown considerably since....a detriment.
Probably the same old "gang" of boorish old geezers plus new idiots.
The greater difference is that I didn't seek out Farang company, as I didn't in Kalasin nor presently in Phichit/Sukhothai........as I've always lived in the country outside of the population centres, yet close enough to commute.

The Surin Farang community can be quite reflective of like provinces that have a small Farang base - selective "hang outs" where one will find the usual suspects....as those whom reside within said regions know already.

There are those character types that don't get on very well without the continued socialization of their "own kind" and can't be too far from any Westernized supermarket to shop for their Farang goods. Any sorted Farang ghetto will do.
    Sad - even pathetic, actually.

Never mind. To each his own.
True old-hands don't require such predictable and seemingly artificial stimulus, else, like their brethren, they invent a psychosis without adapting or acclimating to the local surroundings - still consider themselves, therefore are treated that way by the good Thais.

    Have a nice day.

I'm starting to think.....( ^ thanks you two for the insights there)
Now that we're near completion on her (wives) house, land, autos, etc. out in the sticks...starting to realize rather,...that one can never truly escape the dullard, petty fuckheads...at least not anywhere in T-land anymore.

If one wants to truly be off the grid, it's (ironically) back in Nakhon-farangville, I.E., have to be a remote plot in the Alaskan or Canadian wilderness, for example. Get a chunk of land and slowly start building on it while I keep working and pay it through.

Any thoughts on that guys? You both seem like the kinds of guys who may have considered such a venture(?)

    Too common.

Suspicions arise with the likes of Slick.
Single young lad [regardless of financial status] residing in an obscure Isaan province for so long.
These types almost always begin in Farang ghetto situations.

As far as living in Isaan...WTF.
    ◇ Caveat: Nowhere is perfect.

    1) I am not wealthy by an American standard. Housing is economical.
    2) Some people would rather reside in Montana than NYC.
    3) Wherever one wishes to reside sooner or later they will find others that they feel comfortable with.
Some folks enjoy a solo life-style and don't require socialization with others from nations they departed or elsewhere.
    4) A decent Thai lady is my affordable healthcare solution. 20 years+ my junior...how much would that cost back in the States.
    5) So f**k it. Life is what you make it. Stop blaming others for your problems or unhappiness.
    6) If you enjoy a more stressful atmosphere then Isaan may not be for you.

Let's throw out the grannies and kids and you've reached this conclusion about roughly twenty million women based on your relationships with...how many, approximately?

However many, kudos to you. You must be a busy guy.

Slick, have you actually seen or been in any of his builds? There is certainly more to building than organizing Thais on a day rate. But you seem like a judgmental sort of guy so it's not surprising.

I spend a lot of time in the local malls because my wife has shops in Buriram, Surin, Prasat and Sangkha. I see many farangs all the time busy with shopping and herding kids. It's rare to strike up conversations but it's because people are occupied with their own priorities. It does not mean they are anti-social. It's a pretty safe bet you are not going to be life long buds after a chance meeting in Tesco Lotus. You sound very cynical. Maybe provincial life in Thailand is the wrong place for a young guy in the prime of his life.
