Khon Kaen business ideas by Peter Pan

I think Kk has more appeal than Udon, but now Riggers moved there, maybe the quality has sort of diminished somewhat, well! a lot really.

But your right in that Udon has lots of old westeners living here.
I fact I thought sort of a meals on wheels sort of thing would go well here, you know, home delivery for all the old farts, a meal with a bib and some Nice bit of Totty to spoon the stuff into their mouth.
There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking

I think I will start a bar in Udon called the altimers bar.
Now as customers are wheeled in we get their address and what time their wife said for them to be home and pin it to there bibs. Also everyone would have their own colored beer condom and bibs so no mix ups.
We would have a free service your young wife program which I and spin would personally take care of your better half’s while you argue with yourself at the bar

Maybe there is some merit in yr idea Rig, I am looking for somethingto do. there is lots of old farangs here but most are skint.
I had a deal set up to assemble and part manufacture kit cars here, but the problem is dealing with these thick bureaucrats, no problem to get BOI and duty free import of parts if its 100% export but I need a domestic market as well. No way!
They want it all export, so for all sales domestic & export you pay full duty. Never mind you would putting 30 odd people in work and 50% of sales would be to SEA market. You can't do it!

^ what about a farang undertaker? Most farangs here are coffin dodgers
I always seem to see a lot of really tall old boys, maybe they need long boxes for when they snuff it
Could be very profitable and you could sell franchises to all major cities where there are a lot of tarts. No shortage of cadavers in Pattaya, that branch would really clean up

    Now here's a sound idea.
I was wondering if they'd just gonna knock out part of the coffin so me feet or head would stick out when they'll throw me on the fire.
Should be a market here for folks wanting a hole in the ground dug for them, could liase with some missionaries for some blessed ground to bury them in.

At that point in time, I wouldn't mind.
In fact, I suggested such already, but the missus don't approve.
I'll need to get a will sorted...

I shall ignore that u Kiwi kunt.
I've still got a way to get to 60, compared with BG I'm a teenager. Can Still ride a bike, and get my leg over the 'ol lady most days, so think I'm not doing bad.
I went to a PTA at my girls school last week. Hilarious! as the Thai parents were all in their 20's, except for the kids whose Mum had gone away "work bar", they were stuck with Granny, but all the Luk Krueng kids had their Dads there, I was the youngest of the lot.

It's a shame you're not near the Cambo boarder. The Cambodians would bend over backwards to help you. I'd just pop over everyday to the factory.

KK should get a good western fat food restaurant, probably American themed.
Good burgers, ribs, steaks, cajun stuff and of course good fish n' chips.
This would also be a boon for the western style coffin makers and undertakers!

I have been looking at doing a good western style cafe here, in the local shopping centre but its bloody hard to get space, as well its surprisingly expensive, I mean more than I pay in a good shopping mall in Aust.
The shopping centre does have a couple of coffee shops, but thats about all they do (coffee) and its crap Bon Cafe coffee, the only food they do is toast with honey on it .
I can get space this time next year, but need to do something before if I can, maybe look at Kon Kean, or Korat, see if there is a decent high traffic spot there.
Could I live in the same town as Rigger ?

^ For that sort of operation PP, I'd go out of town a bit- on a ring road or something, with parking. Loud vulgar signs, and word of mouth will take care of the rest- as long as your product stands up.
The sort of Thai you will attract have cars anyway, and the falangs all have transport (I think).

The only Café of its kind in Khon Kaen, emerged because of a desire by two Kiwi’s, living and working in Khon Kaen, to be able to drink "real" coffee. This is of course not taking anything away from the locally brewed iced coffee, which is a heavily sweetened blend that generally comes from Laos. This coffee in itself, called "Kafe Yen", and usually served in a plastic bag with accompanying straw, is unique and well worth sampling if traveling through Thailand. With the support and assistance of respective partners, Kiwi Café left the drawing board and began to take shape on the ground. Kiwi Partner Bryce, locally known as "Boon" and who is fluent in Thai, managed the project. In true Kiwi "do it yourself" style, Bryce and Gerry did all the electrical work as well as decorating and fitting out. The unique style of the Café required a very "hands on" approach through all stages of building.
