Thai roads are dangerous enough ( even for those that ride mountain bikes and live clean healthy lifestyles). After a heavy party weekend at a bike show your not going to be riding at your best and then throw Thai drivers into the mix and you have a recipe for disaster !!!

    RIP Crazyswede

Yes driving/riding in Asia requires 100% attention, 100% of the time. That's why I like it here. No time to talk on mobile, text or even look at the passenger (car) when driving. Just drive/ride.

The moment one does not give 100% attention then...

Sad about the future young mother.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?

    RIP Crazyswede.

I fell off three times, twice on the road, lack of attention.
I don't ride any more, except as clingon with a full face carbon helmet.

Yep, you especially I'd imagine, having just brought a bike.
You know, my greatest fear is not going suddenly but sitting around at the end of my life and having regrets about not doing something or other.

You gotta get and there and do what you love, do it sensibly and not think about the consequences too much.

    RIP.

Most riders that have spent more than five minutes in the saddle understand that riding motorcycles comes with inherent risks, and I'm sure this guy knew that as well- it's a damned shame to hear about it regardless.

I hope that lack of proper gear on his part wasn't a contributing factor- if he had a head-on collision it probably wasn't.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

What specific thing haven't you done that you are referring to.

Because I daresay that it doesn't even occur to most people what it is they haven't done till it's too late. They never even thought it through while younger.

I don't disagree. Specifically as it relates to bikes / riding bikes here I still miss it a lot, I've ridden most my life and love it.

Priorities change though and, for me personally, I couldn't really justify it any more once my kids were born. Hopefully I can get back into again one day soon, it will just be at a much more sedate pace.

As a youth I used to go skiing with my pals, one of our group of friends refused to learn because he said it was dangerous. He never went and missed out on awesome experiences, Thats kind of the point I'm trying to make.

Not something I would regret, I thought about doing that already and decided against it

It was a head-on collision, you can take this litterally.

Sad news whenever a fellow biker meets his maker prematurely, and I hope alcohol wasn't a contributing factor in this accident, although many times it is - especially in Thailand.

RIP Crazyswede and condolences to family and friends.

I'll ride in the US, but this is just another reason why I refuse to ride in Thailand. Very sad to read.

RIP, we've all got it coming sometime, we just don't know when. At least he died doing something he loved. Still it's a terrible blow for his familly and friends.
For the rest of us: stay alert.

Maybe I don't know, but the kids future just went from good to bad.

The guy was retired so I doubt his baby would have been going to Europe for schooling anyway
Hopefully the guy had some good life insurance

As for not feeling sympathy for someone who's life has just come to an abrupt and horrific end, I dont see your logic
