Second hand engines in Khon Kaen?

I have got an old Nissan Sunny (1992) sitting in my garden in Khon Kaen, the car still runs but i need a little project to keep me busy and i want to do up the car to its original state.
My wife won this car back in 1992 on a TV game show and it would be nice to fix it up and start driving it again.
So i need a second hand engine to put in the car and i am sure a lot more things will need to be fixed.
Any recommendations on good/trustworthy mechanics in Khon Kaen?

    Cheers

A quick google search in Thai gives this Youtube advert for a breakers in Khon Kaen :

The Thai word for second hand parts supplier is Chiang Gong ( เชียงกง )

Here is the google page for all the relevant listings in Khon Kaen. Its in Thai but your wife can help you navigate. Mostly yellow pages numbers.

    Google

In any event KK is a big place so should be no problem.

I used to have a Nissan Sunny 1992 so it would be an FF

Great little cars, simple engine but very reliable. I used to find the spares for this were dirt cheap in Bangkok and plenty of them. Engine choice of 1300 or 1500.

Secondhand they go for about 60,000 baht give or take 10,000.

    So watch your budget.

Should be a breeze to work on as very simple engine etc.

If your wife won it in a game show then its sentimental value makes it the right choice for a nice little project. Good luck with it and if you get stuck for parts pm me and I'll try to help.

if you had the car from new and you almost looked after it: i mean, didn't run it without oil, etc, then your engine is unlikely to be poked already, and what you buy secondhand might well be in worse condition than what you have already.

spares and machining are cheap in thailand, and rebuilding the old motor, assuming it is totally fukt, would probably be cheaper and at least you then have a brand new setup you can trust rather than some secondhand shite you have no guarantee of how fukt it is.
if the bloody thing isn't knocking or smoking, then all you have to find is a good mechanic (you may well have to import one from a civilized country, though!)
    good luck!

Cheers guys. My father in law has been using it, so most likely need a engine rebuild the way he drives He did say he got it re-sprayed and fixed all of the inside and seats.
I will be there next month so will get cracking then.
