Hello Teakdoor! Some info on Thailand's Protected Areas

    Hi,

My name is L. Bruce Kekule. I'm a friend mobs00 and he has finally got around to helping me set up this profile.

I've lived in Thailand since 1964 and have been a wildlife photographer the for the last 15 years. I have published three books on Thailand's flora and fauna in the protected areas including national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and non-hunting areas.

My main mandate is to help educate the people on conservation awareness of their great natural resources, and the utter need to save and protect the natural heritage in the Kingdom for present and future generations.

I'm going to start posting on Teakdoor about the protected areas, their inception and history. This will also include general information on where they are, what they protect, how to get there, if they are open to the public, what time of year they are open, and current information concerning the status of wildlife and biodiversity.

    -L. Bruce Kekule

Welcome, Bruce... Yeah, about time these 'savages here at TD' are shown the difference between "a wild life" and "wildlife"!
Looking forward to stunning photography and the wealth of information you've gathered over the years.

Good on ya Bruce.....I have read several of your articles in the Bkk post and particulalry liked the tiger one and the one just last week or so about the damage to the park over on the Burmese borders.

I live at the base of Khao Yai...so if you are ever up this way...come say hello....and take me into the park if you go tiger hunting in KY anytime soon......I can be vely vely quite.

Do you find conservation, wildlife, flora, fauna and natural areas a hard task to educate thais in preserving ??

and 3 cheers for Mobsi for bringing him over.

Thanks. It seems like just yesterday that I arrived in the Kingdom as a 19 year old kid working with my Dad in the wood business up in Chiang Mai. It has been a roller coaster ride and have enjoyed especially the last 15 years photographing some amazing wild creatures and habitats.
