    Exclamation Denim jeans and leather

    Just thought I'd say hi.

This forum seems like a cool place to kick back now and then. Good banter, diggable dudes, lively luscious ladies... (hey Ice ) and so on.

I am from Finland originally, but lived most of my life in Sweden and Denmark. First came to Thailand in 1998 through recommendation of a friend who lived here in the late 80s when heavy metal reigned supreme. So I mainly came for the metal scene, but when Bangkok turned hiphop I started going more often to Northern Thailand, especially Chiang Mai and Pai, instead. Have a semi-permanent setup here now.

Any aspiring guitar players are welcome to ask me questions.

I could play a wicked lullaby that'd send you to sleep like a stoned sloth. Been practicing my folk songs lately.

    Hi Skulldigger.

Do you prefer the harmonic minor or natural minor scale?

Hey Marmite. Cheers for the welcome

    - Do you prefer the harmonic minor or natural minor scale?-

It's all in how they're used. But I guess if forced to choose I think the harmonic minor sounds better. It has that haunting, mystical urgency to it.

My all time favourite is the mixolydian scale.

Thank you very big, Sir William o' the Hills.

-Doh, a deer, a female deer. Fa...-

...doesnt sound like any heavy metal song I know of.. sounds more like some 90s skatepunk or something. NOFX?

No Billy, you are getting confused with
"The hills are alive with the smell of Uranium"

That was a heavy metal song.

    Danbo,

Thank you for welcoming me. I didnt post a reply because I was thinking of something smart to say. Smiths fans are usually so intellectual, they make me all nervous about saying smart stuff or be regarded as a heavy metal bully.

But you dont seem like those scrawny guys in black horn-rimmed glasses and brown thin sweaters that used to laugh at my denim at Unil, which is nice.

^hehe I was going to start a thread on what google threw up for user names....Of the options I'd go for the rabbit as it's the only one not smiling - I never smile, if I do I have the look of someone who's pooed themself.

I was never one for heavy metal, but I've been listening to Motorhead recentley and I rather like it. The thing I'm not too keen on with heavy metal is the posturing, way too much posturing.
