    vietnam internal flights/visa

    Good morning all,
Bit of a long story but i am going on a long trip from thailand to laos to vietnam to cambodia. Thailand to laos to vietnam (hannoi) is an organised tour. So is vietnam (ho chi minh) to cambodia. However the journey between Hannoi and Ho chi Minh i have organised myself with single flights to hoi ann, nah trang and obviously ho chi minh. These flights are with vietair and vietnam airways.

When i booked them a message came up somthing about each destination was considered as leaving the country. However on the booking conformation there is a message that says ..."you will enter vietnam(da nang), vietnam (nah trang) and vietnam (ho chi minh) as if they were your final destinations."

Does this mean i have booked the wrong flights or i need a multi entry visa? I did contact the embessy in london but the only means of contact was e-mail and after a week i got a 1 line message saying all cities mentioned where in vietnam so i wouldnt be departing vietnam.

    Has anyone had this

Nope. Sounds like a website error. You’re not leaving the country each time so you won’t need new visas. Probably just passport for ID.

I have taken a few internal flights in Vietnam, no need for visas.

Ps if you are DB Cooper, no jumping out. We had enough of your antics last time.

I booked a taxi direct from Da Nang airport to my hotel in Hoi An avoided the city traffic driver was sent address , no issues clean car for 2 with a bag each around $14 in 2020 journey at night around 30m

I do same regularly at HCM where somehow in the crowds a driver waits with a name card finds me and weaves through the manic traffic which is always heavy allow plenty of time is my only advice nd if first time Nam watch out for speeding motorcycles they are EVERYWHERE !!

I used Grab a lot there.

Crossing a street there can be very intimidating. Just step out and cross the street at a steady pace, they will swerve around you. If you are starting and stopping, and changing your pace with a worried look on your face, you'll fuck up the rhythm of the road and probably cause an accident.

^I agree about Grab. Download the Grab App when you're in Vietnam. From Da Nang, you can go via Grab to Hoi An (or vice versa). Took an hour or so. Visited in 2019 & have a pic thread about it somewhere.

Re: crossing the street, if possible cross with other people. Keep your wits about re: pickpockets, esp in busy areas. Have a man-bag or one of those cross-body bags. A local friend warned me about pickpockets in Saigon/ Ho Chi Minh City. Sometimes people on motorbikes grab the ladies' purses/ shoulder bags.

Re: local flights, no need new visa. Just show passport during check-in. Took a flight from Da Nang to Saigon. Vietjet plane was delayed 2.5 hrs (if I remember correctly).

Yeah that sounds wrong to me as well. Apparently you can now go back within 30days after having used the stamp on arrival and use the stamp on arrival again. Before if you went to Nam twice in 30days, one of those times you would have to get a visa.

Whenever I arrive in HCM I always get the 1$ bus which is now slightly cheaper at 15000 and is not yellow anymore but orange, still the 109 I believe. Getting around HCM, until the last day when I do not want to be sweaty, I just walk.

Yeah David I am doing that in Da Nang end of the month, I found a company that does it for 300 000.
