    Hi, I’m Steve

I am from the UK and retired in Thailand with a Thai wife and a couple of kids.
we currently have a home in Phuket and are about to buy some land in the Pattaya area.
we will be looking for design and build contractors etc and would appreciate recommendations.

Welcome Steve . . . we do have a building threads section, but if you're no sure how and where just post it in here or the Lounge etc... and ask a mod to move it to the correct area.

Hope you get the answers you're looking for

In the current market I'd be more inclined to buy rather than build.

Hey Steve, did you ever get up to the 50 post mark? or did you just give up? Haven't heard from you for so long now, don't give up because every now and again your posts will get through. Stay in there brother.

Agree with Ed- in the current market you can buy pre-loved houses at a massive discount to development cost. Houses have plummeted, but land prices remain stubbornly high because of the refusal of the mainly sinothai sellers to budge on price, and their financial ability to just hang on until the market (or a sucker) meets their price. Welcome steve.

The post limits for newbies sucks. It zaps the momentum out of them. Fatcvntsteve could be a good poster but he lost interest
