Wear a Good Shark most times on scooter, although for shorter trips wear a good cycling helmet which I always wear on the cycle.
I am not sure why the title of this thread mentions Thailand, as if that is the only place where you can get away with not wearing a helmet
but personal choice is fine if nobody else is involved, like the driver of the car that kills you, or your family having to pay for your funeral etc
I have reported your post
Why wear a helmet? What possibly could go wrong?
Life is a series of choices. Like what is important to an individual? What needs to be protected and held as valuable to that individual.
Maybe family outings are your choice?
I didnt bother with a helmet in Sa Kaeo,I was lucky if I came across more than 2 cars on my 2 min journey to the local shop.
Saying that anywhere that is built up I woudnt risk it.Place's such as Pattaya are full of drink drivers and general idiots,You cant count on your own driving when some dick comes crashing into half way threw his Yabba session.
This could be my personal choice, but somehow I don't think the Mrs would go for ithttps://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...858/328wre.jpg
It's a fallacy to think a simple well intentioned government intrusion into your personal freedom doesn't have far reaching consequences as well.
Expecting the government to think for you simply breeds and encourages more stupidity. We are witnessing the fine results of this in nearly all modern societies where people are systematically becoming more and more dependent on government rather than their own ingenuity.
It's really sad how useful idiots fail to see it.
Earl you are simply exposing yourself as a selfish twat .
^I suppose you could say that about anyone who values liberty above government intrusion.
"Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither."
Ben Franklin
It's a natural form of population control. Only the intelligent beings thinks it clever to wear a helmet.
Let the retards split their head open. Let them writhe on the tarmac with their brain oozing out. Let them die a pointless bloody death due to a lack of a helmet.
Anyone that has had the experience of helmet impacting the road, wouldn't hesitate to don helmet before riding on a motor cycle or bicycle.
The terrible sound inside yr head of the helmet bouncing against a immoveable surface stays with you for years, as does the gratitude for the great amount spent by helmet manufacture's to develop their products.
There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking
When driving with my son we play spot the chicking head, which is anyone riding with out a helmet.
Great game and keeps kids busy when traveling.
Hence the 'erosion of liberty' bullshit from a bunch of dumb-fucks from across the pond.Originally Posted by Travelmate

Try this simple test..hold a water melon at arms-length + at face- height.
Make sure the surface below resembles the road..damn hard.
Let melon drop..the mess you will see should be on par with your skull even after a slow/minor spill... not nice!
I lost control of my bike on a sandy sharp turn, about 3 blocks form my house, and panicked and locked the brakes. I went forward, over the bike and the impact knocked the helmet off my head. I received a rather nasty opening above my elbow but no other injuries. The next time I came back from the states, I brought two first class safety, DOT approved, helmets back. My thai wife wore her's for a while but said it is too heavy for her and wears the WWII helmet now, when traveling more than a couple of blocks.
