Starting a motorcylcle that has been unused for 9 months

My Honda Phantom (pause for laughter) has been unused for 9 months.

Do you reckon it will start again? I appreciate I will have to bump start the bastard as the battery will be well flat.

Is it going to explode on me or my wife or the kids (I will need help by pushing to get up to speed in our carpark as it is level ground)

    Cheers

Some seals may have dried up and become, well unsealed. Should start up with a jumplead I'd guess.

Maybe just get the wife and kids to do it while you stand back and direct.

That's what ya have them for.

Batteries are very cheap and you will need a new one no matter what. Save the aggravation and get a new battery first

Leave it for at least another nine.

    That would be my choice.

Unfortunately I have to take it for its annual inspection. Once that is done I will sell the bloody thing.

Change the oil and change the filter, take the petrol tank off and clean it out, new petrol filter, clean out carby, check gearbox oil level, take out spark plug, turn over slowly untill a bit of juice in cylinder, and check spark, put him back together and kick in the guts, ride slowly and check brakes, also allows oil to circulate through gearbox oil pump etc, my ol bike sometime sits for over a year, as long as the plug hasn't been taken and left out should be no drama.
