    What was your first motorbike?

I started riding less than a year ago and I'm quite pleased with my first bike, despite the stick I get. So, I thought I'd start this thread so I can find out why all the jealousy.

    My first bike.

    1982 Honda VF750S 'Sabre'

    V4 water cooled DOHC 16v

    Power 82 BHP
    Torque 52lb/ft
    Top Speed 125 Mph
    1/4 mile 12.3 secs

Cost A bottle of gin (that Rigger drank)

    1978 on "L" license

    My 1st bike was a Kawasaki Z1000

    1977 a2 model red one

this was the last of the tear drop tank models

I had it for 17 years in and out of redgo for that time(I would by a new bike and store the old Z)

    over 100,000 k's never missed a beat

A guy pestered me for months to buy it, $4500 it was his.

I do wish i had kept it along with the ELR Kawasaki 1000R

Marmite, are the two red horns on the front of your bike for your safety or for the safety of other motorists?

My first bike, circa '82 was one of these, but in red. 50 cc's of pure power, I bought it brand new:

My second bike about a year later was the same thing but a 125cc version, also red. I came off that on black ice a day after my 17th birthday

My third bike was probably the dumbest thing I have ever bought, I wasn't licensed for the 125 but I got a job (so I had money) and wandered into a bike shop and saw one of these at the back gathering dust:

Mine had a 'king and queen' saddle and was a great bike, except for the torque pulling me sideways when I revved it at traffic lights or tried to corner to the right. I bought it because my mate had a 650 Honda (CB I think?) at the time and I wanted more cc's than him!

Finest motorcycle I have ever ridden, at one time it was something like 3 months before I realised there was no oil in it but the bike was going fine.

We rode all over Yorkshire together until I got busted, the bike was eventually sold to the cop that caught me. I'd love to own another MotoGuzzi.

I'm old, my first was a 1975 Honda CB-125. Not a whole lot different than the cbr-150 I ride here in Thailand. Bought it brand new in 1976 in America for $461 out the door back when the dollar was worth something. I was 18 at the time and my mother did not talk to me for 6 months.

Bought second hand just before 17th birthday.
Only had it a couple of months and then bought a second hand Honda CB750.

Then in 1979 I bought my pride & joy.
Suzuki GS1000S. Brand spankin' new AUD3,300 on the road.
    God I loved that bike.

First two, I was too young to have a license for, so I just used them on our own land and nearby country lanes.

    1st

    Honda 70cc Monkey Bike

    2nd

    Honda H100

First Bike I could legally drive on the road was this

    Yamaha DT50MX

Finally I bought one of these, a fantastic bike!

Yamaha XT600 Tenere, I still have it garaged in the UK.

They're loud, unlike the original ones.

You remember well but that was about 5 bikes later when they required a special license for MCs.
