Bought a car and a bike similar to the 500 ENDURO above, but never used it so gave it to my son, the end.

    Yamahas - all the way...

    I had 3, all Yamahas...

The first was an 1978 XS400 (photo is the 1980, but it's the best pic I could find)

Fun little bike, so easy to toss around, but just a bit too light. So I upgraded to something with more heft and oomph - a Yamaha 1982 XJ750. Shaft-drive, disk brakes, very nice.

Pig with gas though, but it might have been the altitude at the time (was tooling around on the US continental divide). I coasted home more than a few times.

Some 14 year-old punk stole it one night and trashed it on a parked car (and yes, he trashed himself too) so I needed to upgrade again - Voila, a 1987 Yamaha V-Max:

This was way expensive, even with the insurance money, but I always wanted one. Big, mean, this screamed as I drove it into the Rockies - I swear it could climb vertical if it wanted. Ended up getting leathers, a full-head helmet, the whole enchilada. Looked like a prat, but it was fast and the bugs and stones bounced off with little damage. And if you thought the XJ750 drank fuel...shit! Still, it was the love of my life.

Then I met a girl and bought a Jetta. The things we'll do for pussy.

Arr.. Bultaco! I had a 100cc Lobito, then graduated to a 360 Montadero.
Put an expansion chamber on the Montadero and it would do 100 MPH. Beautiful bikes. Shame they dont make them anymore.

I kind of had another as my first bike, It was my brothers and I used to sneak it out of the yard, down the road and into a river bed every day after school carefull to get it home, cleaned and back in the shed before he came home from work. He never knew or so I thought, I only found out a couple of years ago he knew all along and didn't mind as I looked after it. What a cool brother! Great bike to learn on at 14.

That was my first, too, when I was 11. Used to ride it on the beach. Kind of pig, and hard to steer because of those fat tires. I used to crash it regularly.

    Next bike for me:

    Loved that bike.

Thanks PP - I do remember him saying it was a 400cc bike.

Why do you say it is piss weak?

I know nothing about bikes but he is going to leave it at my place for a while and has said I can ride it as much as I want while it is here. It is also for sale.
