    not last years model..It was eliminated in that model.. I was thinking the opposite, he SHOULD have had traction control..

    Just looking back I thought I had read that it was a 2007 model, but can't find where I read that? Without knowing for certain it's impossible to tell, but for sure it should have traction control for these novice shows..

    It was a Renault R28 so must be the 2008 model

    Thinking about the way the car was revving on the start line and the way it sounded after the crash I would not be surprised if the throttle had jammed open.

    Wouldn't have TC then unless they installed it intentionally for novices such as this guy which is possible I guess. Throttle is electronic, drive by wire, not mechanical so too many shut down safeties in place for it to stick wide open without some kind of freakish complete software failure, highly improbable. It would have gone into safe mode to limp home and wouldn't have launched at all..
