Looking on the net a standard 2008 GSXR 1000 will dyno in at 160 hp range. And a 2008 ZX10 stock is also around that figure depending on the dyno used

All litre bikes have more or less the same horsepower. Remember these figures are peak horsepower. ie at max revs such as 13,000 rpm. When are you going to be riding at 13,000rpm?? Hardly... What to look for is how and when the power is delivered. Smooth and the fat of the power in the midrange.
The gixxer is known for low to mid range grunt.
The ZX10R is known to have a strong mid range but fok all down low.
The engine that can hold the power thru to the upper regions of the RPM scale before it tails off tends to be the stronger one.
For road riding it the low to mid range grunt that makes a great bike. Gixxer. Strong mid range to top end favours the track enviroment. aka the ZX10R.
However out of the box. I will say that the Gixxer gives the best all round package.
The latest ZX10R I am having second thoughts. Beside it proven to be crap in WSB.

I just bought myself a KTM 660 Supermotard (2005).

I know him very good. I am a regular customer in his bar (I think it is Ban Kho) We met briefly at a party at Norway Jon's house a while back. Anyway, I spoke to you on the phone about buying a bigger off-road bike before. I will probably see you around in March when I'm back from work.

My new bike is standing in the garage awaiting my arrival (I have not even tried it yet).

You can get one with a book for 50k up in Udon. A guy in my village bought a black CB400 about 6 months ago for that (with book). Spotless it is too.
