I don't think so at all.
Good business! My Nightster was around $15k and I considered it to be a good deal in Thailand!
Enjoy.
Hey Friscofrankie good to see you having a bit of fun with the bikes.
I still got my Roadking and the custom Richo built, planing on a new Roadglide this year.
Started a new project a few months ago, Harley pan drag bike, started with a new S&S 103 pan engine, then sent off to I think it's Don Vance in the states to be reworked, Thai built frame, three of us in the race team looking to have some fun this year as the Harley drags are starting to take off here in Thailand.
That should be Dan Vance
That was the day she came out from the dealer: Versys
Honda Phantom. Not expensive, dependable, looks good.
Tunk is the old 2 stroke or the newer 4 stroke? Show your pics when you get some more posts.
I might be tempted to give up my trusty steed for an H2R been told its a bit of an animal.

I doubt it will have a single baht influence on the cost of a full size harley just because they build a cheaper 500 and 750 in India.
Can't really compare USA prices as they are so cheap ever one can afford one.
I plane on a new HD this year at 1.6 million then start adding some bits probably closer to 1.8
New HD from Grey market or official HD dealer?Originally Posted by Rigger
Don't really care as long as it's brand new with a book.
The 1.69 million is the price from HD new road glide special
Took the ridge out today and blew a rear tire bloody piss me off
Tony did a good job on that. Think he was selling it for 350k?
Lot of bike for not a lot of money.
Couldn't help myself, Triumph Street Triple now saddled up next to my HD Nightster.
Fireblade coming hopefully next month.
Rear mudguard has since been removed.
So at the request of another user in my newbie thread.
Right now here in LOS I have a 2009 Click that my buddy basically requisitioned and rides all the time, I bought it off a French chick for 30k in 2010 when she was leaving the country, have done regular servicing and one battery, been dead nuts reliable. I bought an MSX when they came out and putt that around mostly now.
In return I ride his bikes a fair bit, have a couple of BROS 650's, one of which is now a 700cc with very well sorted suspension, an NC35 and an SP2 with a built motor that usually just sits.
Couple years back I brought over a 2001 XR650R motard, still waiting on a book for that, have an NC30 track bike we got out of Japan for 50k and this week a 2012 CBR1000 RR will hopefully show up from the states (which I may want to sell and get an FZ09 if anyone is interested)
You would buy an FZ09 over a Street Triple or do you prefer the price?
STR has dropped to 460k this year from 750k.
MT-09 is just the European name for the FZ-09
Also, Triumph are currently building a street triple 800.
Lang may yer lum reek...
Never really considered the Triumph, surprised it is priced where it is. I am partial to Japanese bikes but I am sure the Triumph is pretty good and reliable now.
Would love a new KTM 1290 Duke but the tax on that is still outrageous here and I can not find a used one cheap enough in the states yet to bring over.
One of the reasons I brought the 2012 CBR over is I picked it up really cheap and the tax and book is not too bad, about 150k I think. I have ridden one in BKK and it is not really ideal so thinking of a standard bike.
Have not ridden the Triumph but just rode my buddies FZ09 couple weeks ago and it was great, and that was a few days before he fitted a Penske shock and Race Tech internals in the forks.
I like this one. Once upon a time I had a bike, then bought a car, family reasons, but I miss the freedom. Yeah baby.

I was working in Delhi a few years ago walked past a shop and stopped for a double take there in the window was a red Royal Enfield Bullet, wow what a sight it was.

In I go wide eyed and salivating and ask a price in Rupees it worked out to around 1100 pounds I was buying one there and then eagerly telling the sales guy I would ship it to my Thai home, he then stopped me and advised me to look in to the Thai import duty at the time it was around 120% of new cost.
A nice honest guy the Indian sales guy was a true gent I didn’t buy the bike, but part of me has regretted it.
You can buy the enfield in Bangkok, not sure what they cost though
Currently in Thailand, I would say the Kawasaki Vulcan 650cc is the best if you can afford 300,000. A cheap option would be the 200cc Keeway. But the Kawasaki drives easier in spite of the bigger engine. Do not buy Yamaha in Thailand. A friend had problems all along, and he said he will never buy Yamaha again. Biker for 20 plus years.
