How second-hand car sales are enjoying a 1980s-style 'Boycie boom' | Daily Mail Online
There are loads of Z3, Z4, SLK Kompressors around, but I had ruled out a 2 seater on account of you having more than one child.
And my search was 2,500 - 3,000 ‘convertible’ ‘Manchester’.
Backspit is a complete schmucklehead and he spends copious amounts of time on this site confirming it.
Bangernomics 101.
Old krautmobiles will quickly take you into a world of pain walletwise. Just think how those 3 grand kraut jobs will have been used and abused by the chav shite that ran them down into 3 grand bangers,Open your eyes and take a look around and see the type of dross to be found driving them. Albanian phone unlockers, council estate scallies and low level bradford drug dealers. Do you really want to be associated with scum and get pulled by the police every time you are out after dark. If you must have a German car, make sure it is at least a current model or 70 plate or you will be forever doomed to chavdom, celibacy and lots of police stops when your brake light fails.
The Jag, in the UK at least, is a characterless set of wheels, more or less invisible on the streets. Forget it.
The car you need is the Saab. Less is more. Pure understated class. Low profile but highly regarded, and more than likely to have looked after by previous owners in a way that the other two havent. Spares and servicing should be no problem. Saab still supply spares.
Forget the VW and that piece of French shit and just buy the Saab if it has a service history and 12 months MOT.

Nice one Tax!
The Jeremy Clarkson of TD.
Yes, I can certainly see similarities
But you've never intended to buy any of these cars.
Still, it beats pics from the fruit carving festival in Crewe, or a Metro exclusive on the latest dogging scandal in Stoke, I guess.
Nice quick edit there after you decided you can speak for all discerning parties and declared Tax a wanker on behalf of us all.
Ciz been up to his old tricks!
Tut, tut.
Decided to narrow the search down on the advice of TDs Jeremy Clarkson, might even be an investment!
I feel like a convertible in the UK is pointless.
Tempted with the Jag but that's going to drain money.
My wife's got an old Merc and I reckon she has to take it to the garage at least once a month for some.bullshit electronic reason.
Totally disagree with that with the long light evenings from now til October.
UK is the biggest buyer of Convertibles in Europe.
OK we get a lot of rain but it's great to have it when the sun does come out, unlike Spain where its too fukkin hot. And there's a heater inside when it's cold
How's your roof down, wind in your hair electrisc scootering around Bangkok going?
Saab - because people will think you are an Architect even if you are not. Also I seem to recall that the advert on the telly showed that driving a Saab is like flying a fighter jet. Noise is probably the same as well.
Second hand cars here have risen her by 30 percent.
Any cabriolet for 3k, especially now it's Spring will be a shed.
Jaguar Land Rover is a subsidiary of Tata Motors Limited (Company based in India). Saab may be Dutch owned.
