Don't think I've ever seen or heard of a 914 here.

Would be quite pricey if there were one though (whatever the state of it)..

Could probably add another $300K for a 911.

I think I had an Austin 1100 or Datsun 180B, both shared with my sister until she mercifully killed the former and I returned the favor by wrapping the later around a concrete post doing time trial laps around me mates street.

Well that's one thing I never did was write a car off, had a few little bumps and close calls but always had the car under control.

Pfffft... it's a 'right' of passage to 'write' a car off:

Had the XY so sideways up Emu Plains the 2 driverside tyres (bridgestone steel belted 60's)broke the bead went flat and had me spun 180 pointing back down the hill, walked to a phonebox and called the NRMA to come and pump the tires up. the bloke said no way, then tried it, both pumped up and i went home.

5th gear was kind of funny. When approaching a steep incline [only one bridge (at the time) on the east coast of Florida] you had to downshift.
Yeah, i've had a few of these little cars over the years, and they were so simple and fun to drive. Was just looking forward to finally having the time and resources to restore one to what it could be. But, it seems that is just not feasible in LOS. Everyone has their own favorite car or toy. Something that takes them back. For me, it's this weird little car. I will keep looking. There are many expats in Thaiald now, and the ban on imports has only been in effect for a short while, so i am sure i will find oe at some point.

Heading to my own 18th birthday I wrote off my turbo'd 6cyl cortina whilst racing a Torana.... fucker did not like losing and swerved into me... I also swerved to avoid him and went head on into a parked car... launched the Cortina into the persons yard and ended up of the roof in their flower garden..... Goddamn was that old biddy pissed about her roses.

Got out of the police station at 11.30pm so still managed a birthday beer.

Specially if you tend to write them off all the time.

Always had a soft spot for the 'ole Gotinas.

I was looking online at a Mark V XR6 Interceptor the other day. Some South African homologation special V6 with triple carbs.

    Wonder what those go like.
