    MG Extender anyone?

I'm looking to buy an 'MG Extender DC 2.0 Grand 6 MT' and would like to know if any poster has one and if so are they happy with it?

I know that. But what isn't these days? All I want is a runabout manual car. To teach my kids to drive in when they can reach the peddles. I just want to drive it locally. Have been looking at second hand motors but I believe the Thais want too much. About 160,000 for a 20+ year old battered un-roadworthy and un-serviced pickup.

For 300k you can have my December 2013 Built Navara, I purchased it of a UK chap (he bought it new), He serviced it at Nissan per the book, I purchased it from him at 90,000 km and since then I have it serviced at B-Quik.... it now has 125,000 km.

Good of you to offer your car but I'll stick with the MG thanks. 4 years warranty and 1 years insurance isn't bad when buying the MG new.

Bang for buck they are fairly well appointed, I did look at them (and every other pickup available) but the August Supplier discount I get from Ford has me climbing back into a Ranger once again.... hopefully this one last until its 1st service.

I have driven one albeit with AT several times courtesy of the owner of the Yasothon dealerehip. I found it to be quite good. Comparable to a more expensive Ranger equivalent imo.

As with any auto purchase, much depends on the particular dealer service quality. The one in Yaso is good but have heard some are not so good.

Suggest you look into the quality of your MG and Ford dealers. Purchase price difference not that much so I would go with best aftersales dealer.

Those reports are a bollix. Written by idiots who have no knowledge of what they're talking about. Poster called 'Just Weird' destroys all the negative poster talking shit. I'm still looking for the claims of leaking doors & windows plus shit service quality.

I too know of someone with the saloon version and he has no complaints what so ever.

..is it any wonder they offer 24 hour roadside assistance, you are obviously gonna need it or they would not need to offer it.
    'Just Weird'
logically, your same comment applies to Toyota, Honda, Isuzu, Mazda, Nissan, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Lexus, Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, VW, Fiat, Chevrolet, Bentley, Rolls Royce, et al, who all must need it because they offer it!

They're probably good cars, but I just don't like the thought of buying a Chinese re-brand of the classic UK name, with CP as their Thai business partner.

    Company Profile
Founded in 2013, MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd, is the sales, marketing, and after-sales services arm for MG brand in Thailand. MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. oversees dealer networks and is both a joint venture and a business unit of Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). Both CP and SAIC operate the state-of-the-art SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd manufacturing facility, which assembles the iconic MG vehicles, to serve both domestic and ASEAN markets.
Plus, the name "Extender" sounds like some sort of penis enlargement product.. Probably appeals to the local market.

A friend I made for a few days on holiday here has one, they showed me the App and it was very impressive.

Could lock and unlock the doors from a few humdred Km away, think it showed the tire pressure of each tire, etc. Think could start it and turn on the aircon.

    But...

I wuz looking at the vehicle earlier for 619000 Bhats. Wife phoned up to ask 4 discount 4 cash. They'll discount 150,000.

So for the same price of one of the cheapest models I get a 4 door top of the range for about 620,000. Not bad.
Asked for it in red. Was told Thais don't like red so delivery will be in about a month.

Price, compared to a Ford, saves about 400,000. Am I correct?

^ Are you getting the 4 wheel drive option?

Interested to know how you get on with it.

I need a cheap pickup for trips to market.
