Seems like I heard that story on Pattaya Secrets forum some years ago! So the Pattaya Ford dealer is a real barsteed ay!
As for the MG (Mediocre Garage) vehicles:
1/ Those CP kunts own the business so I wouldn't give em the satisfaction of selling one more vehicle. Tis why I don't buy their fertiliser, seeds or chemi.
2/ In the past I have bought container loads of product to resell in Australia so I have found out first hand how the Chinese can cut corners to save a buck...or a baht.
3/ While they maybe considered safe and have past safety testing when new straight out of the factory I would be concerned if a long term owner. Rust and corrosion and stress takes a toll over time especially if corners have been cut.
4/ If your keeping it 3 or 4 or 5 years your resale value maybe pretty shit! Look at the price of low mileage used TATA pick-ups now.
I think you would be better off paying more for an Izusy, Mitsubishi or Toyota. That being said, considering the cost of labour and other imputs the price they are asking for Japanese brands is bloody extortion! And to top it off and add insult to injury the pick-ups on offer here in LOS are 5 to 7 years behind in development. What pisses me off the most is their still putting drum brakes on the rear axles! Yet most export models get disc brakes.
