"my cars tended to have valves operated by a rocker driven by the rods running down to the camshaft, inside the engine."

You wanna win a pissing contest, in your mind, and on a public Internet Thaicentric forum, thats fine by me.
Just don't expect to get a job as a proof reader working for Haynes or Chilton.
I'm outta here on this one.

My apologies for not knee bending, to your opinion, in your thread.

Thanks, but I have no need to bend my knee to any publisher who utilise different words for different markets.

Or allow some to show exceptionalism in a friendly environment..

Just a silly question, diff related.... Toyota and others allow 4x4's to oversteer front wheels beyond normal rear wheel diff range. Okay on loose stuff but gives out a nice squeal on good friction roads. Does this cause additional load of differential and a further reason for the oil change?

Is it not the front tyres squealing and hence the front diff ?

No, the vehicle is in 2wd and squeal is from the rear. I have heard it on other vehicles as well when turning with full lock applied.

Something to check or consider, if the owner has the Diff Lock engaged it will drive both rear wheels at same rate. You are not supposed to have it in Diff Lock mode on dry pavement but I suspect many have no idea about it or have no idea what the little light on their dash is telling them.

    Troy

Your hearing the tires squeal when turning, if so then it is the surface of the road as they have been using rubber mixed with tar on the road surface.
They have been using the rubber & tar mix for 10 years in Ratchaburi.

More than 7,000 tonnes of rubber latex worth 358.6 million baht have been used for road construction and repair projects under the Department of Rural Roads this year.Department chief Pisak Jitviriyavasin said on Tuesday that findings of research conducted by the department showed that a 5% concentration of latex rubber in the asphalt mixture for road construction and repair projects was most suitable. Since 2013, the department has used a total of 22,659 tonnes of raw latex, worth 1,132.96 million baht, for its road construction projects, Thai media reported.
