That style was from 67-72. Loved them. Had a few. In the 80s they were going for 1000$ CDN or less and still strong. Actually saw a right hand drive '70 in Udon Thani a few years back.

I had a 65 for a few years, didn't have the lines that the 67 -72 had. I liked the 69 and 70 Chevy grill better. Its was all aluminum. The 71 and 72 went with a plastic grill I believe. After that they really went flat and ugly style wise. 2001 they got some of it back but by 2009 they were going to that big ugly Peterbuilt cab over front look. . Ford, Dodge did as well. Even the new Tacoma in the US looks somewhat ugly. All plastic. I far prefer the Hilux Revo front here versus a Tacoma in the states. So do my Tacoma friends.

Regardless, Chevy designers smoked a bit too much crack on this design. It will be a big bust. At $48K for a basic Silverado that's nuts. Wonder how much a fully loaded 3500 Silverado is with a Duramax Diesel and Allison trans? $65K? not including tax, delivery and dealer prep.

Not in the same league as Luigi's gem, but saw a similar one to this on the road this arvo.

Not a lot of the budget was spent on the aesthetics ... but they got the box bit correct.

Looks better in Orange. With body colour bumpers, better alloy wheels, a decent side step, a Cummins diesel with Alison auto and a few accessories it would be great.

I do not understand why manufacturers are designing their trucks with the huge front facing grill and call it "Tough". That entire front end is plastic and a slight bump into anything and that all needs to be replaced. If they want a tough truck, make all those front end bumpers out of plate steel.

Good thing though, for those enthusiasts like myself, there are always aftermarket companies that make better and stronger parts that look better.
