    RVF Upgrades and registration

Last week or so was a busy as hell, one with work then back home for some land upkeep and R&R. The mission was to get the moto to where I wanted it and then off to register it.

I received my new Pirelli Diablo Corsa Rosso II tires, front and rear sprockets, RK 525 Oring Chain and the Tyga Chain adjusting tool along with the rear cowl assy

Pirelli Diablo Corsa Rosso II tires

Tyga rear sprocket and spanner tool

Factory rear cowl off for repairs

I used the Rear Stand from my R3 to raise up the front of the RVF, worked perfect

Rear wheel off the Pro Arm. I cleaned it before installing the rear wheel back

The Chain removing/install tool didn't make it in time so I went down and talked to Thanarart my Yamaha Buddy (We ride R3's) and asked to borrow the tool and he said bring the bike and he would do it. He said the shop was slow.

Moto all tuned up and ready to go

I set off to the Lampang Land transportation with my wife to get the bike inspected and then change the title ( Dil can have some photoshop fun )

Walk in to an empty lobby and walk right up. 32 bht to do a title change.

Vehicle/motorcycle inspection area in Lampang. Rode right in. Guy came over. I showed him all worked, he check VIN and Motor ID and said "All done". I am now waiting for a new plate. They had to get approval and checks on the current BKK plate to change it to a Lampang plate.

I am working on some Go Pro mounts next and will take a blast up through the mountains and post up a vid. The RVF is so much more fun to ride then my R3. The lateral twin of the Yamaha just doesn't have the pull of a gear driven V4 albeit the cc's are close (320cc R3 vs 399cc RVF).

Yes The single sided Pro Arm are really pretty cool and look unique. Sure makes putting the wheel on and off a snap.

Have about 8k on them at the moment. Excellent tires. Can't go wrong with Pirelli.

Yeah it took a few passes to understand the Pirelli tire line. I kept hearing Rosso, then Corsa and Diablo and each had a designation of II. Finally downloaded a spec sheet. When I was looking at the tires on Lazada they were all over in price but it was based on whether Corsa Rosso II or Rosso II

But as you noted. Pirelli is really good tire for sport bikes.

Yeah, had a quick google, after noticing they weren't the Corsa version.

Remember they were 12k baht, and the Corsa version come up as 18k. Gonna be very nice and sticky.

They warm up quick as well but doubt that is ever a problem round these parts. I didn't have enough time to get the skin off of them but will soon. Work really interferes with my riding time nowadays. Might have to retire again soon..

JP nice little scratcher, i fear too small for me unless you can get a 2 foot high, 4 foot wide race fairing.

Do you ride like this normally unarmored? I still remember as a 20 year old kid feeling cool riding in shorts and a t-shirt with only gloves and helmet on my 1989 cbr 600 hurricane some guy did not like the sound my bike made as I zipped up and down the streets of my then neighborhood and came out into the street and pulled up a piece of firewood and tried to take me off the back of my bike. I broke hard right to avoid it and hit a curb. The bike went one way and I the other both end over end. The road rash was horrible and especially my elbows and knees. Made a promise to myself that regardless of the heat I would always wear full gear when riding.

    Nice ride btw.

Actually Bsnub, I am wearing Bohn body Armor , I know a few of the guys there. They are in Chico Cali

This is perfect riding gear for Thailand. All Kevlar impact support including back. I have used it for years. Great stuff and offers a balance of comfort and safety. Sure its not a full on leather race set up but who wants to wear full leather here.

    Thanks on the moto Btw

Yeah. I like messing with the tech stuff as you know Dil, the new Go Pro H7 is awesome for stability.

    Next upgrade is....

Billet PVM wheels. Drop about 1.5kgs of unsprung weight.

Dill has the advantage of being able to make weight savings without making any upgrades.

Erm that's not a big bike. I have to say though red would not be my choice in Thighland coz of all the colours it oxidises the quickest.

A 13 year old Chiang Mai teenager is lucky to escape with his life after a high-speed crash in front of the Sri Arun Market in the San Kampaeng district of Chiang Mai.

The person posting video of the incident estimated he was traveling at 150 kph when he hit another motorbike, before sliding into a car at high speed. He recorded the boy flashing past his car’s dash cam just moments before he hit another motorbike. Two other people were injured in the incident.

The teenager was riding a 1000cc Kawasaki big bike. He survived the crash but lost a leg in the incident and was rushed to hospital.

His sister went online to apologise to the other motorists and emergency responders for wasting their time attending to her brother. She said their family had sent him to get big bike training although he was too young to have a motorbike licence.

A 13 year old riding a 1000cc bike on Thai roads.

    WTF were the parents thinking.

I would see the odd M3 or 4 student riding a CBR650 to school when doing the school run in Bkk.

In fairness they were always controlling it well and not showing off.

Always made me wonder, if the parents have 1/4 mill to drop on their kid's bike, surely you'd think they have the sense to realize how fokin' dangerous it is.
