That was pre plastic car days. She had an eight foot bumper that I jokingly say weighed 800lbs.

...I can spot a couple of potential Health & Safety violations there.
^Yes mate I had a beautiful 71 Mach 1. When I decided to move to Pattaya I sold it to John Hollis one night for USD $5500 and he sold it to one of his customers at Garfields (an American driller) the following afternoon for $8000 and I was on free drinks at Garfields for the rest of my time as long as I kept my mouth shut!. I was on free lobster in Pattaya when Hollis would come to visit too .
The driller sold it for something like $10,000 to an Aussie who shipped it to Australia where it'd be worth lots today. Everyone was a winner.
So many distractions, it took me more than 20 seconds to spot the kid's head in that photo.
^What's the engine can anyone tell?. I'm no Bow Tie badge expert but it looks like a tree-fiddy maybe?.
Definitely a small block... Maybe 327 or 350
Couple more pics from the same site (Australia's toughest cars).
Was never really a big fan of this model but Jaysus, that paint job is stunning!.
This will give the kid and his V8 powered go-cart a run for his money when it's done, a V10 Viper engine going into a Datsun 1200 Ute. Hold my beer and watch this
Oh snap! I've literally just seen that Dato on a FB group page!
Can't believe they managed to shoe-horn that in there!
Money's the answer, what was the question? .
No seriously, that's some completely out-of-the-box engineering going on there. This might be the ultimate sleeper, depending what he does with wheels/paint/etc. They won't let him register this for the road will they?. In any case, if anyone sees the finished car FFS post the link!.

Haha fair enough.
I'm in the process of buying / collecting the cars of my youthful dreams...
...and they're only going to cost me about x40 what I would've paid back in the day.
But, they'll never be as cheap again as they are today!
