Ten years ago I flew out of Clark Air Force Base and when booking the ticket, had somehow forgotten about it being Easter Thursday, with lots of traffic leaving Manila. On the way to Clark, of course there was a jam on the highway, so my taxi and many other cars formed another lane in the emergency lane. Then I was amused to see yet another lane forming in the grass-covered median strip beside us. And then another next to that ! It was quite surreal. Finally, I had a great laugh when some looney overtook everybody, by going way, way out on the grass.

We all passed a policeman taking photos but there was too much dust being created for many photos to show number plates.

Flips are masters at turning two lanes into four.

Many Thais seem to interpret double yellow lines as a clear indication of an extra central lane that can be used by vehicles travelling in either direction. Might have done the same from time to time now.
