I've seen speed camera shots from the front and back.

My plate is starting to fade quite badly as well, front one, and a mates was so faded it was practically illegible. Apparently they'll pick you up on that as a violation now also precisely because it can't be read by the cameras.

My wife got stopped and fined the other day for no front plate on my little ute. I'd removed it to swap bumpers and never got around to putting it back. To add insult to injury the cop said if it had been me driving he wouldn't have bothered because he can't speak English.

There was a sign saying speed limit 90kph and I was doing 100kph. I might get my first ever Thai speed ticket.
    I didn't get a speed ticket.

Thinking about it. It would be kinda stupid to take a flash photo from the front at night. So maybe ahead of me was a speeding motorcycle without any lights? Normal practice around here.

My red light ticket photo in Korat was from behind.

Was pulled for speeding twice along the new section of road through Khao Yai last week going to/from Rayong. Both times it was a guy with a hand held radar who nabbed me, then at a road block a kilometre later you get pulled. Only 200 Baht each time.

There's cameras all along the new Khao Yai road enforcing areas with limits of only 50km/h. They must get loads of people as its a wide, fast road and hard to go that slow.

That has to be slower than before they widened the road?

^ I think so. There's several areas of 50 km/h limit now where the road is 3 lane and good. Trouble is the signs say when you're entering a limit, but there's never signs to say when it ends. Makes it very uncertain to know what the limit is.

I picked up a camera ticket on the windy bit near the dam a couple of years ago - it was supposed to be a 60 k/h zone , though the only signs with 60 on them that I saw were yellow

Well Mr Pragmatic, I got this in the post today after a few days away in Rayong a couple of weeks ago.

I can categorically say they take the photo from the front in Kabin Buri.

The things I do for this forum...

I like speed. It took a lot to stop speeding in Thailand, especially with the 'normal speed' I drive in Germany.

I changed my style to driving for the maximum distance on a tank of diesel.

    It worked.

I am still the fastest off the lights. It can take several minutes for Thais to overtake me again, although I rarely go above 95 kph.

It's a new level of fun.

Something I've noticed about Thais and traffic lights. They're not fast off the grid.

They have to finish the Line message before they notice the lights have changed.
