Have your local mechanic look around for a good reupholstery shop. The Thais are quite good at that.
I'm sure some good ones in Chiang Mai.

Interesting, an old bloke in the village said to get it repaired rather than buying a replacement. We'll follow that up. Cheers.

what about online parts stores in thailand ? the chinese generics etc

electric mirrors , replacement headlights , blah blah

tried lazada and it is rather fcuked - a bit on aliexpress , but would be happier to order in thailand with out the customs lottery invlved

For what it's worth, I bought some new car parts into Thailand, was told have to pay import tax at customs. When I said they were for a boat they just waived me through

lots of used car part shops here

put these coordinates into google maps:

    13.630415, 100.705133

And you will find an area with loads of second hand car parts, is just off Bangna trad just south of suvarnabhumi

    hope that helps

another place you could try is here:

NN-Poonsub (search for this in google to find their facebook page)

    or

telephone 089 048 4409 (better get a thai speaker to help if you don't speak thai)

they are a big used car part dealer in the Pathum Thani area, but they could send the part you needed to you.

    cheers
