Yes it would. Still time before you load up the container? Remember this, if you don't do it now, you will regret it later...I keep looking at the Chinese versions and trying to erase all the bad reports on them I've read.

Far more practical and fun than big bodacious 4X4 imo.

Are you selling your old truck, Racht?

What's your asking price if so?

How many sets of tires did you go thru in that 500K ?

Is Toyota itself going to buy your old truck or some third party they know who comes in and checks it out and makes an offer?

Well, 300K THB isn't shabby for a 9 year old truck with >500K km on the clock.

I was thinking since Yingluck made it easy for every Somchai in LOS to have a vehicle and then they turned around and unloaded a lot of them to these used car lots, the value would have decreased more.

I have seen the prices drop, I think that as the Truck is a 4x4 gives 100k on top of a standard pickup truck.
I will wait & see what price they come with.

You can haggle with their offer. I did and got more.

What is Toyota throwing in on the new truck? window screen, roll bar, hood flare, cattle guard, etc? They surprised me and gave me a Toyota clock and a portable electric/battery operated air pump as well.

This time a round they did not offer film for the widow, that's good as I don't end up pulling it of at the Malaysian border.
Free 12 month insurance but it is always offered.
When we get to picking the truck up they will take a picture & frame it.
I don't get involved with the fine detail, I leave it to the TGF.
with the Rego plate we always ask then to get the plate from Bangkok.

Its really funny the styling in TL versus western countries. Firstly I do not get the 5 foot bed. Secondly why do they always angle the front of the bed towards the cab and make this narrow backdoor to hop in. For cryin out loud make it easy to get in and out of. My Tacoma here has 4 full doors and a 6 foot bed.

Truck looks nice overall. perty blue

As Ltnt said you should get a ton of foreigner perks. Lots of water while you wait, pictures, water bottles, perhaps a Toyota jacket? I know I got jackets and some very girl like looking helmets when I bought my scooters.

Can you do 2 more easy favors Ratch, Can you find out if the truck has rear Disc or drums brakes and do the trucks come with the TPS systems. (Tire Pressure Sensors). I ask as the Valve stems where the sensor is housed is pricey and if you swap wheels and do not add them you throw codes all the time. As low in pressure as I see Thai people run their tires I would think that option is not on them or the dealer would be clearing errors all the time..

    Cheers

I am hoping to buy one of these later this year. I notice however that the new pickup is wider than the version it replaces. Does this mean that the Carryboy canopies will no longer fit properly ? Given my knowledge of Thais it would not be unexpected that they would attempt to cobble an old canopy onto a new larger vehicle. Obviously, in due course, proper canopies will be available but until then should they be avoided ?

Sorry BM I over looked this post.
With the tries the first set I changed 120,000. kilometre's
    2nd set changed around 240,000 kilometre's
    3rd set changed around 360,000 kilometre's
4 set I have in storage & will go back onto the pickup when I sell the pickup.
5 set I move from my Fortuner they lasted about 3 month as I had 2 rear tires blow out on a trip to Malaysia 1 one day & 2nd the next day.
When I arrived back to Ratchaburi I had all new tires put on at 476,000 kilometres.

I changed tires as they are to hard compound, they still had good threat left.

^Very nice, I only got a coupon for 500 bahts worth of diesel...I got material floor mats and rubber floor mats, no plate cover other than the std. SS or chrome one with advert...hood screen, door wind screen, bed liner, tie downs, roll bar and could have gotten bull rail, window screen, could have also go the semi plastic chrome door protectors, lift bed door cover, head light and tail light plastic chrome choice of rims, cigarette lighter plug in for portable air-compressor with air compressor, photo op with various members of staff, free service first time, 1,000 kilos, I took my own insurance with AIG #1 type, not Toyota's offer...more expensive than my current provider by several thousand baht...good deal if you got #1 insurance for free for 1 year.

Some one told me I'm better of having BKK plates, as when you drive in Banger the Police leave you alone.
If you have plate from out side of BKK they will sure they pull you over.

I don't know if it true, I just make sure I have Bangkok plates

JPPR was asking about bed space. So I went in and took a look at the new 2016 and got a few photos to share.

If by saying the Bangkok plates are free of charge...that's over 6,000 baht in your pocket if you've bought a 4x4..

Perhaps one reason I wasn't overwhelmed by this version was the fuggly dash. Perhaps one of the most dangerous looking screens ever installed on a front seat dash....
