I think that one is a 1923 model. Though I might be mistaken, since there was a group of them travelling together.
I saw them again on the Isle of Lewis
nice to see those old cars battle scarred, patinated and in use, as opposed to mollycoddled, over restored and californiarised.
^ that border collie is not stuffed, it's a live hound.
heres a little beauty, its a concept car that never made production, but what is it ???
(if you want to cheat, the name is in the file name of the downloaded photo.)
They probably need a pretty good sense of humour to drive a hard-starting open roofed car around Ullapool.Originally Posted by Mr Earl

^ yeah, I know, and they're getting hard to find too.
Had a convo about exactly that over Xmas with a bunch of mates. We all used to tool around in old Holdens, Fords and Valiants. Used and abused them and some of them would be worth a small fortune today. A couple even a large fortune.Originally Posted by palexxxx
The conclusion we arrived at is that it's a nice thought but we were all too young and dumb to have the foresight to keep them and even if we did too broke to be able to put them in storage and hang on to them while they appreciated.
Apparently a genuine GTHO will go for between $100,000 and $250,000 nowadays.
When I just finished school a mate and I planned to drive from Melbourne to the Gold Coast, (fore-runner of 'schoolies' I guess, we must have been pioneers), anyway we were shopping around for a car and we could have bought a Holden EK in very good nick from an old guy for $100. Stupid us, if we'd only known, I'd love to have one of them now.

I think you're missing some zeros there mate, I've seen them advertised for 1mil+Originally Posted by palexxxx
There's an E49 R/T Charger in NZ that is one of one from the factory in a specific color (Arctic white I think??) and apparently the dude who owns it has turned down offers of up to 1.5 mil.
Nah ass has fallen outta em.. 500k will pick up a mint condition original GTHO.
You know what really irks me.
In 1971 my dad decided to buy a new car. I tried to talk him into a Phase 3 GTHO but he wouldn't listen to me. He bought a Volvo 142S for about the same money ($4315) There would only have been about $300 difference between the two of them. What could have been.
