How did you know ? I just didn't expect a drop top of Putins limo to get guessed on the first go
putins limo is made by a russian car company, i dont know the name, but the design is similar to the rolls royce phantom. the logo on the wheel trims were the giveaway, and the appearance of a russian in the driving seat more or less confirms it.

now i can see that it is called an auris, and you tube is full of details.

^ Well the middle one is obviously an Alpha.

But it's a bit confusing to me. I had a 1750 GTV from the early 70's

    So for CCC ... it's a 4 door, circa early/mid 1970's.

The 'square or non-sloping' rear windscreen says that vintage.

Four doors, so it's a Guilia.

What is unusual is that second set of lights in the grill.
Almost all Alphas of that vintage had a main set of headlights and a smaller set of driving lights in the grill, but Chitty's one is different.

Also unusual is the 'wider' Alpha heart or front grill emblem and that the grill is black with a single chrome bar.

OK, at this stage I cheated

I've never seen or heard of a Giulia Nuova Super

"The Giulia Super range was re-released in 1974 as the Nuova Super range, including the Giulia Nuova Super 1300 and 1600 This and featured a new black plastic front grille and a flat boot (trunk) lid without the characteristic centre spine" Wiki

I'm curious to know if it was the Diesel. Apparently the first diesel passenger car Alpha built and only 6,537 were built.

Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

This pic was from at work around 1983-85 we went out to the Liverpool speedway one night with the gf's mom and bf who had a mazda rx4. I pulled up beside him on the M4 doing about 60mph(in my head) and we both gunned it. Needless to say all i could see was a couple of little dots from his lights, When we joined up at home he asked me "how fast do you think we were going when you took off? i said "dunno the speedo is broken" he said "when you were next to me i was doing 80 mph". True story as best as i can recollect, it had a lightly worked 351 clevo (780 holley vac) 4 sp toploader and 9in lsd. I got really pissed off with an insurance broker one day because he told me that the car was worth only $700, i told him i just paid that for the new wheels and tyres. and i paid $3000 for the car 6 months earlier. wish i kept it now.

    Cool car and story.

It does beg a question to the members.

What's the fastest speed you've driven a car?

    What car?

    What year?

    I'll start...

    142mph

    Audi Quattro

    1991

    160-200 km/h numerous times.
That’s plenty fast enough on a public roadway.

    6400 rpm t5g gearbox 3.36 diff
    1985 vk ss brock commodore
    speedo only went to 200k
I worked out at the time it was around 150mph based on the kph vs rpm just driving around
The slightest left hand curve on the freeway scared the shit out me, had to use force on the wheel not to go off into the grass

    That's "Reliant Robin".

But that blue car looks like an Austin Anglia, to me.

In the UK 'an Anglia' meant a Ford Anglia.

    And it had four wheels.

The slanted rear window says it's a Ford Anglia. Wish I had bought the one I saw in OZ so many years ago.

There are other models with slanted rear window, Reliant Regal for instance.
The shape of the rear side window among other things excludes it from being a Ford Anglia.

I drove a Ford Anglia a coup[le of times in 1975. They were an odd little car.....and a lot smaller than you would think by looking at this photo....real babies.

For some odd reason, my memory was telling me they were made by Austin, but of course I see now they have a similar shape to the early Cortinas
