tiz a thing of beauty, and in car terms i agree with Tax in that car beauty faded from mid 70s on - of course quality increased from 90's meaning a 15 year wasteland of fucktards designing, building and selling shite - sorry Ant but for the money you pay for cc'd up 70-s saloon you could get curves and a lifetime of oily work but christ at least once you've finished getting a horn over women (unless you've got Simon43's doc number) an E Type would still give you a twitch.

looks very much like a riley pathfinder, below, from 1957, but the proportions are not quite the same.

your picture is very small, but the number plate doesnt look like a uk number plate and the hubcaps and rear passenger window are wrong.

its certainly not american (and if it is not a riley or armstrong siddely sapphire) , it must be european. it is more flowing and certainly more pleasing to the eye than the harsher german designs of the period, and it lacks the eccentricity of french offerings of that time, so i would go for an italian car.

is it a lancia?? late 50's.

Now we are moving to electric vehicles in which weight is a factor wouldn't it be great if manufacturers using plastic panels used a bit more imagination. No stamping and panel beating required to obtain those curves and seeing cars like that everyday would certainly make commuting less dull.

Yeh, have to agree. Citroen and Alpha grills have kept their basic shape over time.

    1934.

Another Citroen in Laos, this DS Prestige, made in limited numbers 1964-7 for heads of state/VIPs, had a glass separation between the front and rear seats. It was owned by the last King of Laos, Savang Vatthana, as at 2014 it was stored, unrestored, in the former palace garage

Cycled past someone's private collection the other day and thought after my initial pangs of jealousy, what a great quiz.

Easy for some, harder for others...

Can you name the make, model and manufacturing year of the 10 cars in the 3 pics below?

    In London I had a fiat 850

My German GF's Dad had a benz 280

I had an alpha GTV 1750 so the 4 door alfa giulia is easy to spot as the wheel pattern is shared between the 4 door and the coupé

Had no idea what the black car was ... a renault dauphine you reckon?

    I'm going with

Renault Dauphin, Morris Minor and Fiat 126

VW Beetle , Seat 133, Morris Minor

What he said above as I'm not a Merc fan and can't be bothered. Optional
