Also saw a total travesty (again) that you may have spotted too, a late model Aston Martin wrapped in matt-black. Ugly, just plain fucking ugly, who would do that to such a beautiful car?. Must get a photo of it sometime to post here but it's hard to get pics when you're behind the wheel and are a responsible driver with one hand on the wheel and the other on a beer.

I'm going to guess the slightly earlier model, the HX.

Based on the lack of the 2 small nudge pars they put on the HZ

Give me a headsup before you do so I can be the first to say what it is. I want to get at least one right over the years.

I think you're right. The grill is certainly Vanguard, but the hood ornament is odd. Perhaps custom replaced for royalty from the normal winged thingy because it looked like Krut?

Nope...googled and they do come with that hood cheese slicer.

Taken at a Bali Auto classic and vintage show last summer. I have plenty of pics, but most are instantly recognizable.

There's an electric Fiat 500 these days too. Just the thing to carry on your yacht for those runs ashore.

    ^ correct
    1986 Dodge 600ES Turbo convertible

From wiki: Sales of the ES Turbo were initially slow, with only 1786 copies being sold for the 1984 model year. Output increased to 5621 for 1985, then eased to 4759 for 1986, after which the model was discontinued along with all 600 convertibles. Base price for the 1986 ES Turbo convertible was $14,856.

Mine was an '86 as it had a third brake light. It is one of those "I wish I still had it" cars. Very small number made to the Great White North.

The Road and Track's road test “Never mash the throttle real hard in first or second gear,” the magazine also cautioned, “without first making sure that the front wheels are pointing exactly where you want to go.”

It was the GLH Turbo that caused BMW to pull an ad that touted the 535i as the "fastest four-door sedan sold in the US.

Interior was basic but who cares?

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?

That Dodge looks like shit, seems they could not be bothered lining up the chrome strip on the door with the rear quarter panel.

VN its got a similar profile side on to a golf Mk1 but by christ front on its a pug. I take it was the yank attempt at a hot hatch?

PS no offence meant to pugs

Most people never see the front they are mostly trying to see the rear. :-)

The Omni was a econobox. The GLH was a usual US parts bin build but yes a hot hatch. Cheap, standard parts bin parts, good performance. Mopar or no car?
