1967 Saab Sonett V4
Saab Sonett V4 is an automobile that has a 2 door coupé body style with a front mounted engine powering the front wheels.
Its 4 cylinder, overhead valve naturally aspirated engine has 2 valves per cylinder and a volume of 1.5 litres.
In this application it provides power and torque figures of 65 bhp (66 PS/48 kW) at 4700 rpm and 115 Nm (85 lbft/11.7 kgm) at 2500 rpm respectively.
Claimed kerb weight is 770 kg.
Its maximum speed claimed is 161 km/h or 100 mph.
The V4
In late 1967, Saab started using the Ford Taunus V4; the car was redesigned and renamed the Sonett II V4, with the 1500 cc Ford V4. A new hood was designed by Gunnar A. Sjögren, with a ‘bulge’, necessary to fit the higher engine. The bulge is slightly to the right so it would not obstruct the view of the driver. The engine produced 65 hp (48 kW) and the Sonett II V4 made 0 to 60 in 12.5s and had a top speed of 160 km/h.
In total, only 1868 Sonett IIs were produced.
I once had a 96 V4.
Simply beautiful.
. . . and not o beautiful:

Clearly something British by the placement of the wiper.
Some Indian Oddity? Too ugly to be a kit car
So fugly they didn't want to put a badge on it.
I understand Bsnub's thinking but the country that gave us the mini and the E-type and the DB9 could never be held responsible for that POS.
Hubcaps look VW.
Go back to bed you moron..
Yugo product maybe. The hub caps and grills style looks yugoslavia. Zastava

Fancy a New Zealand-made EV? Here'''s your chance! | Stuff.co.nz
^ No clutch pedal, so an auto?
But no visible selector?
Fuck ... it's an electric car, hence the lightning bolt symbol. The electric gauges on the dash.
Has been retro fitted with seat belts, so currently being driven around somewhere in the West?
Steering wheel is on the right so England/Australia/NZ
Closer?
1970 Other 1970 Electric Car | Trade Me Motors
The brainchild of Timaru engineer and inventor Donald MacConachie, this is one of maybe EIGHT complete cars he built, with the intention of mass producing them for the Kiwi market. The fiberglass bodies were made in Washdyke by a Fibreglass Contractor and the cars used a shortened Triumph Herald chassis as their base, plus Morris 1100 rear suspension and belt drive to two electric motors driving the back wheels. 72 Volts. The motors were made somewhere up north by an electric forklift company. I believe this is the only complete car left, and is in a great barn find condition.
It was actually originally made as a "range extender", with a Briggs and Stratton 5kva generator mounted under the hood. Still has exhuast, mounts and all the auto start switch gear for it and I have the contact details for the guy who has this original generator from this car and he'd happily trade it for a replacement genny.
Fiberglass, seat and headling are in pretty good nick, as is the dash and gauges. Chassis is pretty sound but has some surface rust. Doors, boot and bonnet all open and close. Check out the sweet lightning bolts molded into the bonnet and door skins!
