69,000 baht is a lot of money for an absolute piece of crap...
I saw this add in the Uk that wanted about 25,000 baht, & I reckon that's outrageous...

from the same website, here is a much better proposition.
a beautiful piece of sixties americana, one of the new breed of smaller american cars, this one is a wonderfully proportioned designed that has aged well and with an absolutely gorgeous dashboard too.
1962 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible for sale in Bangkok/Thailand
^ The sales price is 1,250,000 baht.
fair price i would say. its a very desirable and usable classic. not too big, not too thirsty for a 60's yank.
you might pay £20K in the UK if it was in A1 condition.
^ might be a fair price, but would't get me excited at that price personally. I prefer me old Lotus Elan +2, and that was a third of the price. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose...
I can see it's a nice car, nice shape, has style, but...
Cycling should be banned!!!
i dont think you could get a sorted elan now for under 30K.
heres a tidy +2, £15K, thought they would be more expensive.
Used 1969 Lotus Elan [Pre-76] for sale in Bedfordshire | Pistonheads
again, a wonderful classic british dashboard. elegant and functional. lucas and smiths instruments, toggle switches, what more could you ask for.
ive always liked 50 and 60's american cars, ive never owned one, although i did rent one from a specialist rental agency once whilst on holiday in the usa. a huge olds convertible, looked like the red one but bigger, cant remember the model name though. good fun to drive around in, but i dont know how i would feel about driving something so conspicuous and showy in the uk, and convertibles are just plain daft in thailand.
The steering wheel on the proper side of the car, ffs...Heh...Originally Posted by taxexile

I bought mine in about 97 or 98, it was perfect, or close to, for 6,500 pounds, spent 1000 pounds on doing the engine (which was good already, had the Webber carbs, 130hp engine), so for 7,500 pounds I had a really great vehicle, in red. Very cheap, even then - great value. Similar to this:
I like some of the Americana, certainly would be nice to do a road trip across Yankland in one. I like the Stingray best of all.
what rare car is this? The damage may put you off the scent a tad....

Found this clip while 'researching' the body kits thread. Besides the Renault 5 GT [?] [did I get that right Betty?] - can you name the other cars?
Tenuously [very] associated, what car came with a bottle of rum in the tool kit?

Here's one...Maybe be easy for some.
It was in a Jan & Dean song from the 60s.
It's a Renault 5 Turbo 2 (or it might be the R5 Turbo 1, they are very similar - the 2, usually has a 2 on the side of the car though). I looked at buying one, but they were quite a lot of money, and expensiveish to maintain. R5s of that era didn't have the best reputation for build quality, mostly (only, I think) LHD too.Originally Posted by bobfish

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
