Good spot on the filler cap. Yes, it's on the left hand side.

My guess is it is a 67-68 model but I am no expert and I didn't ask the owner.

Here's a bit more of the rear.

    I posted this photo earlier...

Notice the words "Le Mans" on the engine valve cover. Apparently this would indicate that it is not a 1967 model but a 1968 model.

    1968 GT500KR

Beginning in April 1968, Ford began factory installing a version of the 428 engine known as the "Cobra Jet". This new engine featured a unique, 16-bolt pattern exhaust face. The GT500 was subsequently known as The Cobra GT500 KR. The initials KR stood for "King of the Road." Ford rated the Cobra jet at 335 hp (250 kW), but with 440 lb⋅ft (597 N⋅m) of torque at 3,400 rpm, although the horsepower was considered significantly underreported, as it was later found that the engine made 435 hp (324 kW).[citation needed] Shelby's KR engine was left stock adding die-cast aluminum valve covers with "Cobra Lemans" to note Ford's FE engine family victory over Ferrari at Le Mans in 1966 and 1967.

^ It is a 1968 vehicle, but read on ...

Well, that Mustang got me thinking about exactly what model it really is, so I did a bit of digging and discovered that it is a 1968 model vehicle (I have a photo of the vehicle identification number, which provides the year of manufacture). What else I discovered surprised me (you can find out a lot from the VIN).

It was manufactured in 1968 in Metuchen, New Jersey.
It was manufactured as coupe, not a fastback.
The original engine was a standard 6-cylinder 2 litre 115hp straight six, not a V8.
It is not a genuine Shelby (it has no Shelby VIN plate) nor a GT500. The car started life as a plain Ford Mustang coupe.

I’m not sure if the front has also been changed. However, I suspect it has because what the owner appears to be doing to his car is to transform it into a replica of the car “Eleanor” in the film ‘Gone in 60 seconds’, even down to the exact same front lights, colour scheme and wheels.

See it at 31s in this video.

FYI, there’s one (an Eleanor copy) on sale on one2car.com for 7.9 million baht. 1967 Ford Mustang 4.7 (ปี 65-73) Coupe AT for sale on One2car

More details of an 'Eleanor' and a better video below:

    And another 'Eleanor' video.

And good photos on this site: 1968 Ford Mustang GT500 Eleanor

Could be a series one which will make it very old, not that it matters with Land Rovers.

I dont believe typing 'British van truck fender skirts' into google is cheating. No answers yet Is this chassis missing ? Or is it under there

Is it a newer version of this ?
