Looking for a good VW mechanic to rebuild and make a VW 1600 cc look nice. Prefer Rayong or Pattaya but BKK is ok too.

I thought there was a VW rebuilding place near your house, AO?
never seen or heard of it, and my first car, second car, and third car were bugs. I even bought the best selling book. How to keep you volkswagon alive. For Idiots.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

Bruce,
Did ya get in touch with the Thai VW club?

There are 2 reputable VW rebuilders on Phetkasem road Bangkok, Bang kea. Could be one with two garages as they are opposite each other. Always refurbing Karmann Ghai, Beatles, Campers as well as modern VWs. Just before Soi 48. When I pass tonight I will try and remember to take details if you haven't located one yourself.
You bullied, you laughed, you lied, you lost!
I used to have a westphalia camper, dead gutless, but then again I was expecting a bit much as towed a trailer with a formula atlantic race car, back in the old days, when Men were men and sheep were petrified (with fear).
Without a shadow of a doubt I'd recommend Kevin at Car Kolor in Sattahip. Great guy and incredible work from him and the team of guys he has working there with him.
He can do any work that you require including mechanical and body, take a look at his website: Classic car restoration thailand,
If you contact him let him know that Dale passed on the details.
^Nice cars, but looks like fat wallet stuff.
Prices not too bad actually. Love what they did to the mini. Before I left Thailand I sold my 1967 Paddy Hopkirk Mini which looked very similar.
Thanks, guys. This has been really useful.
