    Would you be bothered.
Yea I was always kinda irked by that. Why bother bying it when it's free at the border?

Now rideasia forum offers the same stuff for free, like a proper community forum should.

I don't know what he was charging for the forms but...

Is it possible the said 20 baht forms already had the 20B government stamp already affixed to them?

    Just asking.

Sure you can print out a free form but Rideasia doesn't offer to get you the necessary 20 baht stamp?

Easy to scan a form etc and make it available on-line but the actual "service" would be going to the government office to buy a load of stamps.

I've only been the Chiang Mai once and never dealt with anyone there in the motorcycle/restaurant or any other business, but there is always two sides to any story.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

I've just book marked that forum and will spend some time exploring it as I'm interested in " The Ride ".

Thailand has unlimited possibilities for " The Ride ".

rideasia has really come on since my last visit around 5 months ago.

Well done, it's looking like the winner of the two forums.

^ complete fiction of course. In the 6 years I've been a member GT-Rider has never sold immigration forms or asked for kickbacks from anyone.

That's just it! There's nothing pioneering or epic about going on a ride being under the thumb of a Vietnamese tour operator, being told where to eat, sleep, and were you can go.
Then to publish his "epic" trip as if there wasn't any tour operator involvement seems highly disingenuous.
I used to believe that some things actually happened, such as The Nazi Death Camps and 9-11 really was a terrorist attack. But, now I'm a full fledged conspiracy buff and I'm hanging on every post, waiting for the evidence that links the Vietnamese guy to the CIA and proving that 9-11 was indeed an inside job...

No sense in arguing with someone so poorly informed.

If you spend a little time hanging around Chiang Mai you would get to know what is what regarding the gtrider fiasco and why the forum is not long for this world.

I see your grasp of forum popularity is just as inaccurate as your grasp of politics and math

    How popular is gt-rider.com?

I have no beef with either place, but those 'stats' mean absolutely nothing.

Dang I wish I had something good to smoke.

Clearly you need to spend some time on the ground in CM to actually see what the lay of the land is. Basically David and gtrider are foked.

Spend a little less time at Dengue corner and open your eyes and ears to the real world...
Can't be fun there with just the two of you. The place is always empty when you drive by. Buying bikes and parking them out the front isn’t fooling anyone.

You could fill an Olympic stadium with people that hate that asshole.

Bit short notice for me to make that one.

    Question.

I'm not up to doing the hardcore off road you guys do but the easier trails no problem.

Regards the bikes, can I hire one and if so Approximately how much. ?

Sorry about the short notice Terry. Yes, there are lots of easy trails in Khao Kiao, it's also a popular spot for hiking and mountain biking.

As far as renting a bike, I'm not sure of your location?

There used to be a spot in Pattaya, off beach road that rented dirtbikes but I haven't been down there in well over a year so no idea if they are still in business.

Another recommended place in Pattaya: Pattaya Enduro Madness: Enduro Madness Pattaya - Awesome Guided Dirt Bike Tours

    On facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EnduroMadnessPattaya

Here in Bangkok you can rent a Kawasaki KLX250 from Bangkok Bike Rentals: Homepage for Bangkok Bikes Rental

    Happy Trails!

What stats are u using?? stats can and often are very misleading
    example
If ur using Alexa it ONLY counts those that have alexa installed on their computers and can change daily

    Alexa
gt ranks 241,634 and # 4,041 in Thailand
    ride asia ranks 533,634 and # 10,434

I like them both and find great info for future trips.

Wow, what an epic day! What a difference a rainy season makes! No one's been through these trails in ages and conditions were CHALLENGING! We were all shattered by the end!

Yours truly taking a nice dive over the handlebars

Later this week we blast off to Chiang Mai for a Memorial Ride with the GT-Rider community.

    Happy Trails!

Do you actually have any photos of you on an upright bike?

Would love to give that kind of riding a try myself sometime in the future after I get my house sorted out.
Probably definately will more than likely be getting a crf250L without a shadow of doubt......maybe.

3 Kawasaki KLX and 1 Honda CRF-L. Our first time back since the end of the rainy season and conditions were challenging!
