Good point. I guess I just need to find the big bike I want and pay the fiddler.

Here she is.
Gail.
Nice, where does TT sit?
Are those pipes loud?
I'd say that's a pretty safe bet- they sure don't look quiet.
I'm not a cruiser guy, but I like the murdered-out look.
There's summat odd about the look of that Harley, can't seem to put my finger on it.
It's a big mofo...
Kinda has the 50's look (?). More than a tad of Triumph about it too.
Mebbe the seat looks too big for the bike, perhaps?
^
I see what you mean- maybe it's the gap between the tank and the seat- it breaks up the 'flow' a bit.
The engine is so massive, it must be hard to balance the bike around it while keeping the bike 'bikesize'.
Certainly something very interesting about it though...
^ I've ridden one, the centre of gravity is very low, thus easy to maneuver around. Once it's rolling, it's a total blast to ride.
^great. Hope Dirk enjoys it.
It's all in the riding at the end of the day...
the rear swingarm has completely 'wrong' geometry, hence they're piss poor at anything that involves corners or smooth roads.Originally Posted by Exige

Nice bike DD. Wish I could afford one.
Here yu go betty & Marmmite making comments they know fvck all about.
By the fvck of Marmite about the spelling, I dont give a fvck
Strange comment. Not easy to fathom the meaning, but folks have opinions, is that ok with you?Originally Posted by Ratchaburi
For my part, I can't speak for Marmite, I can certainly see the attraction in the bike although for the money it may not have been my choice. Exige says it's a great ride, Dirk obviously likes the bike; it's a good bike then, and good luck to the OP - hope he has many years of fun with it.
Many HDs are extremely shite, this bike doesn't fit into that category, it's a nice looking bike. As I said, has a nice 50's styling about it aswellas more than a hint of Triumph (which are very good looking bikes). It's also got a bit of a cafe racer look to it, which I like.
It'd be interesting to hear from Dirk how it rides, especially compared to other bikes he has ridden.
Cycling should be banned!!!
I gave her my MSX125, so she sits on that!
Yes, very loud.
Yeah I hate that they did that, but I'm going to change the seat anyway to include a pillion for Roller Girl.
Absolute nonsense.
There's nothing Triumph about it in my opinion either.
Great bike, comfortable, very fast and great handling. Well chuffed with it. Gutted I wont be home for Krabi Bike Week this coming weekend.
Lang may yer lum reek...
This Ducati is made in Thailand and is available for about 400K. I am still looking, but for right now this bike has been put at the top of my list. I would really like something other than a Honda or Kawasaki, but it will all boil down to how much money I want to give up at the time I buy.
Ducati Monster 795
^
It's 440K (there's no non-ABS option anymore)- I would also consider the new Hypermotard at 500k:
Yeah, no ABS but the seat looks more comfortable than the Hypermotard. I went into the Ducati dealer in Udon and sat on a couple of bikes but can't remember much about the riding position. I am still looking for something with more upright ergonomics.
I believe it only comes with ABS now- Ducati (along other manufacturers) is gearing up for the mandatory ABS law for motorcycles over 125cc that goes into effect in the European Union in 2016- it drives up prices 25K or more in LOS for their bikes- there used to be a non-ABS version of the small Monster.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
HST
I'm more for the upright position too but had no problems with my monster in that department.
It wasn't really a smooth ride but the handling was awesome. That was an '05 S2r
