Bikers, what helmet do you have?

I know helmets have been mentioned in one of FFs threads but I'm curious about what helmet you use and the positives and negatives of it rather than sponsored adverts so to speak.

I use the Nexx XR-1R which i bought a few months ago.

Comfort is good, but despite the reviews regarding noise damping I find it quite noisy. Oddly, it suppresses the engine noise of my bike, but the wind noise is very loud. I often feel like I've been in a loud disco! This is the opposite of the Index i used temporarily before buying the Nexx where I can here the engine noise but wind noise is reduced (800bht putting safety to one side).

When I bought the Nexx and got it home, after close inspection I was curious about the visor clips which looked flimsy. I commented to my wife at the time they would last 5 minutes. Yesterday while filling with gas I flipped the visor to speak to the attendant when I heard the clips fall to the floor with the visor hanging to one side. Both had snapped. Disappointing and dangerous to say the least! At 750bht, they can be replaced at Panda. A cheap, small piece of plastic.

Why did I buy it. It received good reviews from many places, felt comfortable when I tried it and when compared to Arai and Shoei on the Sharp safety rating it equaled.

So what do you use and why. And what makes us choose an Arai, Shoei or Nexx when they rate poorly or avergae in the safety rating when compared to cheaper brands such as Caberg for example?

I'm thinking of changing as i feel the fit now worn in, isn't quite right.

I've got 9 helmets. Main one is my Shoei RF1100 which is great. A Bell open face classic, Bell Moto 8 motox, another Bell motox lid, a beautiful Davida open face which I bought online but doesn't fit, a nice Shoei open face, a Chinese pudding bowl for a laugh and some from my son who doesn't ride.

Anyone want to buy a helmet?

For riding on the SR I have a Project Gordon which is a kevlar/composite helmet.

For bikes that require a full face Helmet I have the Bandit XXR

I still have a shark and small Arai for the missus but no sports bike any more so they just collect dust, On the chopper or the roadking I use as below.
I have a few skull caps but only use them for around town as the wind noise at speed drives me nuts.

Shoei RF-1100 in the Conquerer graphic (which was discontinued so I got it cheap)- its an excellent helmet overall- reasonably light, quiet, decent airflow, and quite comfortable- it does nothing great, but does everything well:

I needed a second helmet (I like having one to use while the other airs/dries out after being used)- I was set to order an X-11, which is really light and has good airflow, but I tried one on and found it too confining (and its low weight and track orientation make it pretty noisy), so I switched to a GT-Air in the Journey graphic- wow, what a fantastic helmet- about the same weight as the RF-1100, but as quiet or quieter with terrific airflow, which is perfect or LOS- it also has a drop-down tinted visor with excellent optical quality, and it comes with a pin-lock visor (it also has the Shoei emergency helmet removal system, where pads can be pulled before the helmet is removed to put less stress on your neck if you've had a crash)- I definitely recommend it:

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

You might like the Scorpion EXO-1100, JJ- it's got a lot of features for the price, and the reviews are pretty good- it's worth a look.

    How about the Freedom graphic?

That does look pretty smart. I'm also looking for one with sun visor too. Can't be arsed with glasses.

Not bad price on Revzilla at the moment in the closeout deal.

I seriously considered one as it's such a great deal (and that was before the close-out price), but in the end I got another Shoei- I know a couple guys that have it and love it- note it's supposed to be a bit on the small side- if you're in between sizes I'd go up, but if you're a solid 'L' or whatever I'd stick with that size.
