I will be coming back to the US in February and will put my HD up for sale along with some of my other vehicles. I would think what I make off it will allow me to pay cash for the Z800.

Again, it will depend on the riding position, but it looks like you can sit upright on the Z800 like the 500X. I will definitely be sitting on one before I exchange any money.

From this picture, it looks like the riding position is pretty much upright.

I'm gonna try and make it to the show, Rick- if I do, I will definitely sit on the Z800 and tell you my impression of the seating position. In the pic above, it looks a little tight pegs-to-tank.

Thanks FS, I will be interested in hearing what you think. Like I mentioned, I don't think I will be purchasing until next year, but you never know...

    Sexy as fuk, imho...
I ride in both Oman and Thailand, Oman can be insane during peak hour traffic or holidays, best to head out early morning or evenings. Which for most parts of the year is the only time you can ride due to the heat. Roads are greasey but there are some stunning back roads up in the mountains and alone the coast.
Great weather at the moment for riding

I didn't sit on it, but I got a good look at a Z800 today- it was the same color as above (gorgeous, IMHO), but, man, it's SO short (nose to tail)- I was really surprised.

It's a great looking bike- better in person than the pics I've seen.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I agree it looks much better in person, but is still not a great looking bike, imo. The new 300 and the Z250 look better for me.

It was sitting next to a white Z250 (maybe it was a 300- are they here yet?) which also looked good (though the color didn't do it any favors).

Z300 is still just a rumor, but we might see one in 2014

^There's no don't sit sign here. So if you can't sit on it what can you do?

They have one ready for anyone wanting to test ride.

Just ask - most bike shops are happy for you to do it if you're a) supervised, and b) they've moved the bike out away from the other bikes.

I have a couple pics on my Motor Expo thread as well- I think it's a damned nice bike in both appearance and ergonomics.

Whacked over the 120 to Phayao a couple days ago on the Gixxer and passed a Z800 like he was standing still, but that's that's not a reflection on the bike but rather the rider.

I took one for a test spin in the Rama 9 parking lot and while it's a really confined space I could redline it down past the warehouse to the back of the property and it's got that nice inline four smoothness, pulls pretty good for an 800, and a nice sporty riding position with fairly low flat bars that put your nose out over the front wheel. While I much prefer the Z1000 and all it's tech goodies, the Z800 is a good looking bike and a great value here in Thailand.

Pretend you can't read English and sit on it anyway!

OK, the bike is quite heavy over 220kgs but when your riding it it feels light but planted. It still pulls your head off when you ask it to, and it's enough for the roads I use it on.
